the people that are making predictions are leaving a huge chunk of reality out. If a coyote walks on a game trail night after night after night for years, then it’s likely he’ll do the same tonight and tomorrow night. But Sean nor Pete are simple predictable animals. Sean and Pete (and/or Oc) will adapt to the modern offense and will learn how to use it to defeat the modern or any defense. They didnt simply go to Denver to run the Drew Brees led Saints O using their players, and force RW to throw the same routes with the same timing using the same cadence to similar Saints WRs. What you buy when you hire Sean, is his tenacity, competitiveness and desire to adjust and win. So it’s not, “if” he’ll win, it’s “when” he will win. But he will need a franchise Qb like every other team. Their d is solid there, they just need the Qb. Sean will fail, if he doesn’t acquire the Qb quick enough.Fans of a certain age should remember when Bum Phillips imported several of his assistants and mostly washed-up players to the Saints from the Oilers. For the most part, it didn’t yield too much success.
Bottom line, Payton won’t succeed in Denver until he starts over at QB
