Without the cap hell. Payton helped put us in the cap hell. Loomis got the players Payton wanted and ultimately is where we are now. Carr is here because DA wanted him. To me, Loomis only fault is not being able to tell the coach we can't afford this player. Payton will be fine in Denver for 5 years because of the rookie QB. Let's see what happens when and if Nix gets a bigger contract.Even more proof that SP literally wanted the same exact team, just out of New Orleans.
If Moore can bring 4 Championships to NOLA like Kerr did for Golden State, how can you not love him?Looks too much like Steve Kerr , I don’t like Steve Kerr
I keep reading this on this board but it’s pretty common knowledge he’s not the best in the league. He’s 5th or 6th and while that’s still pretty darn good, we tend to overvalue our own. He’s not even nearly the best in the NFC South alone.Best special teams coach in the league is gone. Dark days are coming my friends, buckle down and prepare for a bumpy ride.
You mean Loomis’ actual job of telling the coach that we can’t afford it and that it would cause cap problems? I don’t know why everyone gives Loomis a pass when he facilitated those bad choices and now doubles down on them. He’s the boss, he made these choices. He hired these coaches that everyone blames now. There is a balance between giving the coach what he wants and being mindful of the future repercussions of it.Without the cap hell. The mental gymnastics some of you are playing in your heads is truly astounding.
It's a lot of give and take. That's why I said I fault Loomis for not saying no. But when he says no on certain players, we all get mad because that player is gone. Sure they make bad decisions, but don't all organizations. We as a fan base wanted to win. And as long as we won we lived with knowing what was coming. Drafting well is the key. I hope he chooses better with the next coach and perhaps that’s why this job is a tough sell right now. It would be genuinely refreshing. I don’t need him to admit his errors in words, just in actions.
It's fine to set a price on a player from the outside and miss on them if they don't fit the price. And they don't care what we say regardless. Yeah, we wanted to win with Drew, but he's been retired for 4 years now. That's an eternity in the NFL. The Lions went 3-13 the year he retired and they've been to the NFC Championship Game twice since then. It's a lot of give and take. That's why I said I fault Loomis for not saying no. Just because you work and live somewhere doesn't mean you want to stay there forever. I think Sean genuinely loved N.O. but I think his wife played a part ( drawing an opinion from the rumors that were out there) in not wanting to live there. It's that happy wife happy life thing...Even more proof that SP literally wanted the same exact team, just out of New Orleans.
That may be a stretch because you don't push Drew aside nope never was going to happen. We still were a viable contender at that time. The team just couldn't finish...Jared Cook ring a bell or the tight end that dropped 2 potential td's in the Rams game. If we would have won the SB the year of the Rams Championship game I feel like Drew would have retired the next year if not the following for sure.I think Sean/Mickey broke up over Drew returning in 2020. Payton had Tom Brady ready to take over. When Brees unretired, Mickey/Gayle should have blocked Brees and told him it's over. By retaining Brees, they setup Payton for disaster and disrespected him. They basically told him they were more loyal to players than the coaches. When that happened, Payton knew he would never win another Super Bowl in New Orleans. It was the day the music died.
