N/S Brutal Hit: Trevor Lawrence went to another universe (Update: Al-Shaair suspended 3 games) (8 Viewers)

Stuff like this is why I would allow a rule that for egregious dirty hits puts a player out. Said player should also be suspended the length of the injury too.

If Trevor is out 3 weeks with a concussion

That player should be suspended till Trevor gets cleared to practice.

I saw it. TL looked like he was looking at something not there. Probably didn't even know where he was.

Mamma said that boy is done.

Absolutely, and it makes sense since the NFL cares so much about player safety (sarcasm off).

But seriously, if it’s an illegal hit and the opponent is out due to concussion, then the dirty player should be suspended until the player is cleared.

The NFL is a physical game and anyone entering this sport should be well aware of that.

What the NFL does need to do a better job of is protection / recovery. Penaltizing situations is not going to change the behavior. Teams may need a crucial fumble to change the outcome of games.

That being said I feel for Trevor and everyone else affected by this. Its sad to see injuries occur

Yeah until there is an suspension or ejection from current game for 4 quarters so if player is ejected in the 4th quarter he sits out next game... ejected in the 1st quarter said player can play at the beginning of 2nd quarter next game and so on.... atleast this is something the players union could agree on immediately.....

Player committed to tackle same time as slide. Did hit him in pads forcibly causing QBs head to snap back.

Still don’t see intent to injure, just a guy playing hard.

People need to chill w/ calling guys dirty, same was said about Shepherd’s play. I find it rare that guys are trying to injure each other when playing

People want a heel to hate. Same thing with Shepherd a few weeks ago. If you run as a QB, then you slide early or risk a big hit. Also, it’s right at the first down marker.
