N/S Brutal Hit: Trevor Lawrence went to another universe (Update: Al-Shaair suspended 3 games) (9 Viewers)

I am a Texans fan but that was dirty. Just because Jax is giving you a tough game you do not have to resort to dirty plays. I appreciate coach leashing him and talking to him on the sidelines before he was ejected.
Not dirty to me. Unfortunate. But Lawrence slid and he was going towards. It’s football

Lawerence had already started his slide. As he goes down, you can see the defender going down also and taking his shot. It’s a tough game yes, but the NFL needs to clean up unnecessary cheap shots like this.

One of those things. No one will 100% agree

He had about a 1/2 second real time to pull up. Trevor started to slide. About 1/10 of a second later he goes for tackle.

Football move. Not dirty to me.

Nothing nfl can do. They already have a dress on quarterbacks.

Player committed to tackle same time as slide. Did hit him in pads forcibly causing QBs head to snap back.

Still don’t see intent to injure, just a guy playing hard.

People need to chill w/ calling guys dirty, same was said about Shepherd’s play. I find it rare that guys are trying to injure each other when playing

Chaz Ramsey enters the conversation.

By rule, Lawrence is going to be down here as soon as his knee hits the ground - it does not require contact. A disciplined defensive player knows this. Even if it wasn’t intentional it was reckless and the league is going to punish it. This is precisely why they even have the QB slide rule in the first place.

He’s down at this point - by rule.

Agree. Lawrence went for the big play first down knowing the risks and came up short. He could easily have slid several yards earlier and avoided contact.

Dude legit throw his whole elbow into him. What are you talking about...

Trevor slid late and it made it difficult to pull up in time, however both of the defender’s arms deliberately deliver a blow directly to the head. That was avoidable. That’s the dirty part.

Edit: and this isn’t comparable to the Saunders play.

Dirty hit, and I can't believe others are saying "not that bad of a hit" He led with his brace straight to Lawrence's head. It was a bull **** dirty play and if happened to a Saints players you'd want the defender's head on a platter.

Out for the year and fined. Should have the snot beat out of him as well.

Yup, he might have not had the time to avoid the contact but I think he did have time not to try and take his head off.....sometimes plays that look dirty at first glance are not, I don't think this is one of those times....
