ThisMan... They try to hand ATL that game. It honestly hurt them. If they didn't bail them out. They would of had more time on that last drive.

Landry was down inbound though. Clock should not have stopped. Refs messed up led to the penalty. It was legit. Winston thought the clock was still running and that he was tackled in bounds. The refs stopped the clock because Landry got up and ran out of bounds. It’s a penalty to spike on a stopped clock.
EXACTLY!! It was a first of its kind in NFL history. Another for the Saints.BEcause bet your you know what if Landry would've gotten up and housed it, they would've called it down by contact at the point of catch
He’s the son of a billionaireThey call that on the SAINTS, but no penalty when the Falcons coach runs out to mid field to fuss at the refs and argue to reverse a call
By the way, I thought Jonathan Vilma was pretty lackluster today. There were numerous game-affecting moments that he failed to notice or mention. Conversely, there were a few times when he mentioned something that had no bearing on the game whatsoever. Like at the end when the clock stopped with :03 seconds left, he said, "That'll save them the timeout." For what, JV?I said that to my family and friends here watching the game. There was no need to hurry up and spike it. But it will be an awareness learning session for sure.
I don't see how it matters.Right, it was a penalty.
But Landry was obviously down by contact, so much so that Winston didn't think it was even possible he wasn't. Refs should have made their original call of out of bounds clear.
Apparently Carmichael and the rest of the coaching staff were fooled too. Because they sure didn't tell Winston otherwise. It wasn’t clear that Landry was down by contact and then he rolled out of bounds. Winston should’ve checked whether the clock was running. Still, I didn’t know that a QB couldn’t spike it when the clock wasn’t running. Winston did mess up by spiking it in 3rd and short with almost 30 seconds left. That one made me more angry. Not only could we have allowed the clock to run if we had decided to kick a field goal, but also we might’ve been able to get a first down. I can only imagine that Winston thought it was 2nd down. He needs to be told to look at the scoreboard to check for running time and down and distance. He should know this, but apparently not.
Refs aren’t required nor should they tell the QBs what’s going on. QBs should check the clock, down and distance. Winston almost messed everything up on that last drive with those 2 spikes.Landry was down by contact. Clock should have started OR refs should have let Winston know it was called out of bounds.
Chump move to call that penalty on him.
He might’ve thought it was 2nd down. That series got messed up by the ref calling Landry out of bound. It wasn’t clear that Landry was down by contact and then he rolled out of bounds. Never ever heard of such a rule. I still cannot figure out the call and what the ruling was.
Is it the Saints fault the clock wasn’t running? Why would the official spot the ball and not start the clock? Why would the officials allow the Saints to even snap the ball?
I DON’T GET IT!
Anybody?
Why is it a penalty though? The clock stopped because Landry got out of bounds. Winston though he was downed in bounds. So they spot the ball with the clock stopped like you would expect. Winston ran up and clocked it without the clock running. Ergo penalty flag.
