Bucs game plan...Shut down (1 Viewer)

I think the Bucs blitz Jameis quite a bit to force bad decisions. CSP has to anticipate this and have short outlet(s) outside Kamara. Interestingly enough, they know Jameis as much or better than we know Jameis. I really want this win for Jameis.
Both, JW and the WRs, need to recognize blitzes and adjust as needed. I really hope Taysom is back for this game.

You wanna beat my Bucs? Protect Winston. It's that simple. Keep a nice pocket for him, give him time, and he will pick apart the Secondary. If you can't do that, you're in for a long day.

And regardless of however ranked the Bucs (or the Saints, for that matter) are, do NOT abandon the run. Teams HAVE been able to run against us, and with AK, the Saints should be able to get a few good runs in there. Sure, there will be a few "no gain" or 1-2 yards, but keep the Bucs safeties honest.

On the defensive side, Lattimore (I HATE that guy) should still own Evans. Evans gets frustrated and will end up with an OPI or two. Double up on Godwin (or maintain a good zone structure) as crossing routes are his game.

Of course, pressuring Brady always will yield good results. Brady, having the maneuverability of a motorhome won't need a "spy." Winston, on the other hand, will... if only to stop the scrambling and running for first down.

This should be a fun game to watch.

Pressure breaks pipes. We need to get pressure on Brady and ideally put him on the ground a few times. WRs need to catch the ball

He knows them as well as he practiced against that D for 5 years.

Like Baldy said in his breakdown video, the Seahawks had no choice but to double (and triple) team Kamara to force the Saints to look for other options to move the ball. That is a great problem to have for our offense BUT ONLY IF someone else will step up and make plays for our offense.

Let's face it, Kamara cannot continue to take two thirds of the offensive plays without getting him busted up somewhere along the way. I'm sure that Ingram will get his share of carries, but the real issue will be finding a receiver or two who will step to the plate and force opponents to play honest pass defense.

I think the rapport with Winston is going to come together for a few of our receivers before too long. It's hard to imagine that these guys will struggle the entire season. But we certainly need to get Harris & Thomas back sooner than later. And it wouldn't hurt to have Taysom back on the field as an additional threat to the defenses we'll be going up against.

To me the season starts for real this Sunday. It should help us to see what we really have as a possible contender this year.

The Bucs #1 overall offense against our #2 overall defense should be a classic match up.
So its Bucs offense vs Saints defense:
#2 (yards)/#3 (points) vs #8/#3

Bucs defense vs Saints offense:
#9 (yards)/#10 (points) vs #29/#17

The game is going to be decided on if the Saints offense can find a way to score points that doesn't rely on the defense getting turnovers deep in the opponent's side of the field.

TH7 will be back.
I sure hope so as he gives us so much more flexibility on offense. Concerning, I will note, that he has been out unusually long which indicates it was a pretty serious concussion. We also need Harris to be active but not sure about those hamstrings and time needed to heal a speedster like Harris!

AK. The game plan would seem to be simple. Shut down AK and force Jameis to beat you with a weak WR corp.

What will CSP do to loosen up that stingy Tampa defense? Will Tom Brady look like Daniel Jones did against us?

Lots of story lines in this one. I'm not sure what will happen.
Pretty sure he will look more like Tom Brady.

I'm leaning on CSP's experience against Tampa Bay last year. We pasted them twice, then let the important one get away from us. He knows what works and what to look out for. Hopefully that's enough.
