By This Time Next Week, Rattler Could Make Things Look Different (2 Viewers)

And if he goes 0-2, then what?

Get out the pitchforks? Start calling for everyone to be fired...sell the team? Burn it all down?

SSF is loco. But entertaining. :)

Personally, I'd rather see Haener start. But not because I think he's better. Because I'd rather not put Rattler in position to fail, which I think he is given the state of the team right now.

Even if we don’t win and he makes some mistakes, I doubt anyone will lay it at his feet and say he failed. This is maybe the worst situation he could walk into sans the Ian Book start a few years ago. Nobody is expecting him to be a magician, just show us that there is hope.

QB play can be evaluated separately from the final score and raw stats.

I want to see him make good decisions and good throws. I want to see the offense run smoothly (within reason) without presnap penalties or unnecessary time outs.

And it would be cool to see the arm talent on display a couple times.

If the Saints go 1-1 in the next 2 with Rattler at the helm and he improves from the 1st to 2nd game I think that is my ideal expectation…..anything more than that would be mind blowing…..

Again….

0 chance. There is literally NO scenario where DA doesn’t give the job back to Carr when healthy if he comes back within the next 5-6 weeks. It would have to be something like Carr is out for 8 weeks and Spencer was 7-1 or 8-0 and lighting the league on fire.

2-0 he could be 52-60 with 500+ passing yards 5 touchdowns and 0 picks and I can guarantee you if Carr is healthy the next week he’s the starter. DA is old school and Carr is his guy, he won’t be losing his job due to injury.

I’m super stoked to see Rattler play and I hope he gives us a glimpse into our future with him at the helm
This whole Carr is his guy thing is overblown. DA will play whomever gives him best opportunity to win, just like he did w/ Haener vs Rattler. He chose the best guy. If the team around him is healthy, and Carr is healthy, he'll be the best option, but it has nothing to do with Carr being "his guy"

It's not an 'opportunity' when you are playing behind a dreadful Oline and have no dependable weapons to dump it to. It's a desperate gamble by DA to get a few people onside. I don't know what people think is going to happen but the kid will be pounded into the turf or be running for his life. Not a lot of opportunity going to be happening.
He’ll be playing behind the same line that Carr behind for the last couple of weeks and Haener played behind in a desperate end of game situation. At least Rattler will be prepared to start and it won’t be desperate from the beginning. I think Haener played very well under the circumstances. They were flushing him every down almost immediately, and he could’ve had more completions. There should’ve been a PI on one incompletion. Olave could’ve caught the pass down the sideline. He also got yards scrambling.

I know the staff is seeing them in camp and thinks Rattler is worth a shot, but I don’t expect anything more than what Haener gave us, which was pretty good, but Carr was still better. I think Rattler gives us a chance, just like Carr and Haener, but without Taysom, our offense is very pedestrian, so if we win, I think it’ll be because of our defense.

Agreed. He was the head coach when all three of them were drafted. They are all his guys.

lol. Time really does fly. That was a stuffed softshell crab I had at Sid Mars restaurant in Bucktown for those that remember that place BK(before Katrina) Man it was good.
Oh yeah............................those were soooooo good!!

If I remember Sid-Mars correctly, the food was OK but if I'm not mistaken you had to exit the bar area and walk to the back of the restaurant on a pier to use the men's room.

Hopefully, that dish was better than the image depicts.

Naw, he picked Kubiak’s guy. Like I said, no chance.

LOL While I do like Spencer, some of you have gone off the deep end. He's got some potential but nowhere near enough for all this euphoria. If we're talking late round UDFA QB's I think Tyson Bagent has as much or more than SR . And he;s shown in in reg season games
