Cam Jordan is a 2 down DE (1 Viewer)

This is a clown take. He had 8.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss and made the pro-bowl last season
That's harsh. I think Cam would be the first to admit that he's not the player he was in his prime. The man is 34 years old. Of course he's been on the decline. He had a good season but I don't think it was as good as his stats would suggest. After week 7 he wasn't able to get much going except for one huge game against Philly.

We all love Cam but there's nothing wrong with being honest about his production.

You can talk about me, and you can talk about my mama, but yall best keep Cam's name out y'alls mouths.

:mad1:

Both can be true. But the decline was obvious even last year. It took a 3 sack week 16 game against Minchew in 2022 for Cam to get 8.5 sacks.

Maybe, but I don't think it was that obvious, Cam was pretty good last year....his pass rushing ability has fallen off a cliff this year, he played at an extremely high level years more than most.....love that guy but he should think about retiring.....

And we are a better team for it. Jordan was benched today on obvious passing downs. Jordan has 2 sacks all year vs Kpass and Baun combining for 3 sack today.

It took forever, but DA finally adjusted. Baun was used in his natural position of DE pass rush specialist. Jordan is now a 2 down DE focused on run stuffing. Kpass is getting more reps and producing.
He's a 2 down DE while he's still recovering from his ankle injury.

He'll be punished in free agency as Baun has only 3 more games until he's an unrestricted free agent.
yikes, i unfortuantely agree. Lets hope Micky puts down the crossword puzzle and extends ZB before he hits FA.

I love Cam, he's an all time great Saints without a doubt. But 3 of those sacks came in one game, the freak win against Philly in week 17. Before that he was having his worst season since his rookie year. He is well behind that mark this year. Pro Bowls are name recognition trophies and people like him get in due to longevity.
Same as Ray Lewis later in his career and others it's a popularity contest.

It takes a lot to take a legend off the field. Turner will be back soon and when he's on, he's unblockable so I'm sure DA wants Turner and Bresee on the field together.
Problem is Turner is another "forever injured" player it seems so you can't count on him.

He got a lot of that late at the end of the season when the team was playing for nothing and going no where. As far as impact just like this year little to none when it matters. He'll do a good interview when the team loses or on a upcoming opponent and talk a little trash but that's about it.

Well he's still under contract and his last two injuries weren't pulled exactly "injury prone" types of injuries so I'm going to root for him to play well and stay healthy.
You always root for the players on the team to do well. Only playing 14 of 46 games qualifies as injury prone no matter what the context is.
