Canada Goose vs Bald Eagle (25 Viewers)

šŸ˜‚ I still prefer the 30 chemicals. Never could make myself like maple syrup....it's too....uhhhh...mapley for me.
After using maple syrup for many moons, I had to use Ms Butterworths this past weekend after a 10-mile race. It was disgusting. Tasted like butter syrup. But I didn't ***** too much, the pancakes were good.

I did that because the thread is turning political. Donā€™t like it then post in the politics board instead.
Regardless of political affiliation, we as a population are very easily offended from slights both within and without the borders of the US

Now you've gone and triggered Ms Butterworth

I think it's more what you grew up with. We never had maple syrup when I was a kid. My kids all made maple syrup in FFA and if always try it because the whole "being a good dad" thing but I never liked it.

Also at the risk of starting a full on war....don't get me started on Canadian bacon. šŸ˜‚

Me (at McDonald's drive-thru) : I'll take an egg McMuffin, hold the bacon.

Him: Um, okay. Um, there's no bacon on the McMuffin.

Me: Oh, I'm sorry - hold the bacon that is from Canada.

Him: Oh, oh - right, yes okay.

I don't have a problem with the meat as much as I have a problem with the name.

Poutine....never had it but it's intriguing. I bet at 2am after a full night of delicious miller lites it's fantastic. It looks and sounds like that's it's calling.

grew up on Ms. Butterworth's and Aunt Jemima and I loved it, didn't know any better

The first time trying real maple syrup is a revelation

Like in a "How was I living before?!" kinda way

There's no going back

Had it in Montreal last summer. Delicious

It does have a drunk food appeal, right about that

I never had it either but I know I'd love it.

It still blows my mind that the earth was like "Here! This raw material from a tree is amazing on pancakes!"

And we were like "Yeah, but what if instead of that we make it in a lab with about 30 chemicals!"

I grew up using pure honey on pancakes, which to me is 1000% better. I don't remember even seeing maple syrup in a supermarket in my hometown until around the late 80's? We got honey from a stand in the "big market" (that's what the old market in the center of the city is called), from a guy who bottled his own stuff, not even a label on the bottle.

grew up eating both honey and strawberry (though, not sure if i ever had them together) preserves with a sprinkle of sugar (texture).
