Capital One bank sued... (5 Viewers)

Sir, are you a member of the Communist Party or have you ever been associated with the Communist Party?

Everyone knows that “infrastructure investment” is code word for communism and “stock buy backs” are the only thing holding the line between us and Mao Ze-freakin-dong.
Stock buybacks and cash-hoarding are exactly what corporate America did with the vast bulk of it's Covid money. Damn little went to employees or busted infrastructure e.g. Southwest Airlines.

CapitalOne... I'm in the midst of a bout with them now... their online help is useless, their call center is useless, and the 'back-door' call center has alluded to being helpful, but has not proven it yet...

It's no surprise they would get sued for doing shenanigans/stupid stuff.

It's also so strangely exactly what they did with the corporate tax cut in 2017.

Amazingly, those tax cuts did not "trickle down" and they did not spawn a massive new round of investment. It's a real head-scratcher but it went to stock buybacks and dividends.

So weird!

a 1.7 trillion-dollar subsidy to the oligarchs.

I have several accounts with them and besides this type of tomfoolery, no real issues (that I know of). My question is what bank would be better? I have an account with a credit union but their interface is so damn decrepit it's a deterrent to even using it (maybe that's a good thing).

I have investment accounts with JPM/Chase that have a banking component but I don't really use it. My primary banking is with a local/regional bank - they're nationally registered and have FDIC, but its otherwise a state bank. The personal touches are pretty awesome. For example, if a big check comes through, I always get a call from a person at their clearance office just to make sure it's legit. Once I was trying to buy a car and at the last minute the financing through the dealer got screwy - so I made a call and within minutes had a lending manager on the phone with me telling me my options with them right away, no bullshirt. No ATM fees whatsoever, and their tech is all solid.

I'm a fan.

My car loan is through the state employees credit union. It's not a state agency, they're contracted to provide services and if not for low interest rates I would have nothing to do with them. Customer service is atrocious.

Mortgage is through Wells Fargo. They've been okay but it's about time for them to get sued again.

My regular bank is a local bank that was bought out by a regional bank. They have tanked completely. The branch manager I had for 25 years retired out. I'd go to another local bank but I dread the thought of changing my bank info on all those accounts.

Since seniors make up a lower portion of inmates in the Maryland penal system than any other state penal system, Ima fix my financial woes by robbing my bank.

I hope this post meets @guidomerkinsrules criteria for interesting :hihi:

your talking about finance is on par with Chuck or efil talking about car engines
y'all are close to making me read a thread on SSF - it's that dire

Are you doing the British accent when I talk about car engines? Otherwise, you're not reading it correctly.

What if efil starts a thread on efiling?

Which starts Monday, January 27th.

Never mind, just ruined his thread.
