Maybe he comes back as the Winter soldier (I think that was the name in the comics)

Didn't Bucky "die" and come back as a villain?

Yeah. In the comics it turned out that he didn't actually die, he'd been kidnapped by the soviets and turned into an expert assassin ("The Winter Soldier"). They kept him cryogenically frozen when he wasn't on missions, so he only aged from his teenage years into his mid-twenties since the end of World War II.

It may sound kind of goofy described like that, but it was a really great storyline.

a little off topic, but they had the Amazing Spider man trailer before the movie, and it was exactly what i feared it would be...another origin story. I'm sure its darker tone will make for good movie making, but i'm really NOT interested in a retelling of the orgin again. I can't wait for the Avengers, but i might actually pass on the Amazing Spiderman.

There's probably another thread for this, but I agree. It would be one thing if they rebooted it like they did for the Incredible Hulk, referencing (but not retelling) the origin during an opening credit montage and then moving straight to the current storyline. The first Spider-Man came out in 2002, so for me it's a little early to start over like the new one looks to. Not too crazy about the liberties they took with the suit, either.

-- Since it was released in drawings, then movie stills, then in trailers, I have NOT been a fan of the costume as depicted. After watching the movie, however, I don't feel as strongly. The segment of the movie when he wore what was essentially the same original Kirby/Marvel comic book costume (on stage with the USO) provided a great juxtaposition to the more "Ultimates" practical look he sports in the end. I still think, however, that they could have toned down the amount of "straps" and "accessories" and such on the final costume, making it look a little closer to the traditional Cap costume... for instance, they had the scene where Howard Stark described apparently the entire costume as being some sort of protective material, as opposed to the traditional Cap costume having a chain mail tunic underneath or incorporated in the costume (the reason for those "scales" often seen in the blue areas of the chest and shoulders)

Here's some pics of how his suit will look in The Avengers. I think you'll like them more.

I guess I am in the minority here but I think that this movie missed the mark. I went into this flick wanting to love it but came out feeling apathetic about it. My buddies and I left the theater actually LESS excited about the upcoming Avengers movie, which is sad and I previously thought impossible to do because I was so geeked about it.

This movie was like milk that is ABOUT to spoil... maybe a day or so off. You can drink it and it won't kill you but you just know that something doesn't smell quite right.

I never had a "HECK YEAH" moment where I wanted to get outta my seat and pump my fist nor did I really feel or care anything for any of the characters. I was just like, I could have watched this on tv and had about the same amount of impact.

But the good parts: Hugo Weaving WAS THE MAN!! I'll give the movie that. Also the makeup for the Red Skull and the CGI for pre-buffed Cap was awesome. Oh yeah, the guy who played the Capt's doc was pretty good as well. And the lady playing Capt's love interest was gorgeous and I thought a good actress.

Finally, the teaser trailer for the Avengers stirred some anticipation up, so maybe it'll be better than I hope.

Well I have finally seen it and I loved it. I am not a comic book fan but I thought this movie was great.
