Maybe he didn't think he needed it. Maybe some team that regularly catches things others don't, caught something extra that needed surgery. Now I'm confused. Why wouldn't he have had the surgery immediately after the season?
Good question. I'm guessing he didn't get it done during the season last year because WAS/SF wanted him to play through it, and since he was a FA they didn't encourage him to get it done after the season. He didn't have anyone looking out for him?Now I'm confused. Why wouldn't he have had the surgery immediately after the season?
this is the kind of stuff you have to deal w/ when you're pushed into a corner. Sigh
Good thing it's only a 1 year deal. Don't know that there's anyone at another positon that they could have used that money on that fits either defensive/offensive system. Perhaps Tyron Smith at LT but I get the feeling they want Penning there. Not necessarily wasted money but swear I would have preferred Clowney.
This transaction feels like one of desperation. $13M locked in but injured???
Wow, surprised we gave him a fully guaranteed deal given this. I am sure our doctor's checked his medical records thoroughly (hopefully).
I preferred Clowney, too. At least for a year until Foskey can be ready to takeover.this is the kind of stuff you have to deal w/ when you're pushed into a corner. Sigh

That ain't how we play. We're going to keep signing him to contract extensions/restructures until he's 40.Hopefully the deal does not have void years on it so that if this turns out to be an issue they eat all of the cap hit this year instead of having the dead money later.
