Chase Young (Pressures & Sacks thru 10 (4 Viewers)

Kind of lowkey reminds me of Davenport.

Why can’t you just dominate man?! I mean LOOK at you!!! 😂
Davenport was not a physical specimen like Chase. Plus, Dav was open about how mentally, he was trying to figure out how to be aggressive. Chase doesn’t have that problem. I would expect a big tender like Dav to not live up to expectations, with whatever mental thing he had. Chase on the other hand, should be dominant across the board. He’s decent, but he leaves way too much to be desired

Quick reminder that you’re talking about a man that is 6-6 260 pounds and ran a 4.5. lol

Chase is top 15 in the league in pressures and time to pressure which is very impressive, unfortunately he hasnt been able to get home and finish. Also, Granderson is ranked 6th i believe in the same pressure catergories.

A reason for this could also be our lack of productivity in the middle allowing QB's to just step up. Mason Graham fixes this.
Was thinking the same thing, minus Bresee I think an upgrade in the middle is definitely a must in the offseason. Really thought the same tho with the middle not contributing as much plus the decline on the run Defense shows alot.

I do concur that interior pressure would be impactful, Bresee seems to have regressed. Still, I'm less concerned about Young's passrush prowess more than I'm concerned about his lack of impact in other areas of his game. He's not consistently being a factor on 1st and 2nd. He gets caught giving up contain in the run while also having little impact in the way of negative plays.

Physical gifts and abilities, does nothing if someone doesn’t have the mental fortitude to be the best he can be.

I’m confused as to what your point of contention is here. All I am saying is that they both have the “Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane but shows flashes every now and then” thing going to a degree; two frustrating athletes not playing up to their physical abilities. Not sure how or why mental fortitude is being brought up here. Wasn’t meant to be this deep. 😂

I think a part of Breese is he's getting forced at NT in the nickel so cam jordan can play the 3tech, I still think Breese is a stud, he needs a running mate. There's no better fit than mason graham, BPA and need.

I agree the Saints would be wise to get Graham if we pick that low. What I've noticed about Bresee is that if his intial rush gets stoned its over, and he generates little to no push in the run game. I'm concerned

We get so little interior pressure. He's doing his job--getting to the QB and quickly. The pressure rates don't lie. Sacks don't always measure his impact on the QB. It's a team game and he's just not gotten a ton of help. Analytically run teams are going to see his value to a scheme. We'll see how he finishes out in the new defense, but I tend to doubt he is going to lack suitors. Which is fine, either we decide to pony up or get a decent comp pick in return.

Bc if a guy the size of Tarzan, who has played football his entire life, who is bigger than most guys on the field, playing a position of defense…….which is supposed to exude aggression, is talking about how he is still trying to find a way to be aggressive (in his 4th year), then there is clearly some disconnect in his head, as to what his job really is. And that is to dominate the man in front of you and get to the dang QB. It’s not deep. It’s just what it’s supposed to be. It’s a mental thing for Dav

Chase has a mindset that he is the hunter. He is just missing something that hinders him from being a super Top Dawg. It’s more of a physical thing with Chase.

Absolutely spot on.

Our complete lack of iDL pressure has been the biggest issue with the DLine. Bresee has been such a huge disappointment this year.

I really did like your idea of having him play LDE in the base and 3tech in the nickel, that's a brilliant idea.

Base: Bresee NT Graham Granderson
Nickel: Turner Bresee Graham Granderson
