I thought Neil Adams was bad. forking Rob Liefeld wants $100 to autograph either New Mutants 87 or 98. He wants another $60 if you plan on getting it graded. Then he wants $40 to take a picture with him. What. In. The. Hell?
All of these folks, artists, actors, etc, have seen that people will pay a ridiculous amount for an auto and picture. So they just keep on creeping their prices up and people just keep paying it.

Price creep at cons is very real. There are people that were charging $25 for a signing 5 years ago that are now asking $50 or more. They will push the boundary and as long as people will pay, they'll keep charging more and more.

And anyway, Rob's cocaine ain't paying for itself. And he's burnt a lot of bridges in the industry the past few years. Probably because of the cocaine.

Yep. I see that sign, looked at him and smiled while walking away. Of all the autos I got today, I paid for just one of them.

I was able to get a few guests for my podcast lined up though. That's a good thing.

This bugs me quite a bit the more I think about it. What business is it of his what you do with the auto after you've paid him one hundred forking dollars? If I want to light it up and smoke it, is he gonna charge me a fee for that, too? I know graded stuff gets sold for more money, but why should he get a cut of that? I'm the one paying to get it graded, not him. Ugh, maybe concentrate on drawing anatomically correct people you greedy shirthead.

All it took was for one to start it. Hell, it might've been Liefeld because he's always railed on the speculation market making money off of him (I'm pretty sure his arse is still receiving royalties). Hell, he was so pissed at one point, he said he would no longer sign books if they were being witnessed for grading. I think it backfired because are a good bit of private individuals who are authorized to witness by CGC and CBCS.

Liefeld is an butt crevasse of butt crevasses. Despite not knowing how to draw anatomically correct, he's just a terrible person to be around.

He's a well known egomaniac, possibly even a full blown narcissist. He's one of those guys that has legend status in the industry, but he's not a good guy and he doesn't really make any attempt to pretend to be one. He sucks.

And he never had time to learn to draw proper anatomy because 90% of his effort on any give page was spent on cramming as many pouches, pockets, belts, straps, and giant guns in as possible. He had to prioritize.

So in other words, he's an butt crevasse...

It still amazes me how publishers are still willing to give him work with his attitude.

Then again, for a while, the same could be said for Ethan Van Schiver.

Against my better judgment, I'm going to give DC another shot. I've been missing my Superman reading, so I got the latest two issues of Action Comics coming in tomorrow. I also have the latest issues of Star Trek Mirror War coming with that, so I'm really looking forward to those.

With Bendis....

I can't deal, fellas. Granted, I enjoyed Naomi, but Bendis can go to hell.

Some how, some way, he keeps getting work.
And usually that happens when things sell...

LoSH was cancelled due to lackluster sales.

Neither Superman nor Action Comics went anywhere and actually lost in sales.

Naomi was a success primarily due to speculators.

Justice League is crap again.

Dude had to go to Dark Horse to get his imprint running again. DARK HORSE!!!

Dark Horse, who, btw were just sold to Embracer Group, a massive Swedish video game studio holdings company. In other words, they're pretty much just an IP mill now as opposed to doing anything interesting in publishing anymore.
