Corona Drinking Thread (renamed) (8 Viewers)

I could eat some pancakes right now.

It’s too early for people.
It actually ended up being omelets and sausage. I also learned from having the 2 older kids and doing it to get there right when it starts. I was done eating before many people even started showing up. Hung out with my wife and son a little bit then left. I did get hit up to coach baseball. Going to have to think that over. Coached different sports a few times and I've learned I don't enjoy coaching very much. Plus my daughter is a junior this year and I want to see her softball games so there may be some baseball games I won't be able to attend.

Lots of Miller Lite tonight, followed by a solid dinner and a very interesting array of choice Bourbon tastings. Gotta say, it was a good day.
That's a day I can get behind. I'm doing a few beam/cokes tonight.

What was for dinner?

Solid article and although it says things I don't want to hear they are things I agree with and understand. I will say out of this whole article the thing that hit me the most is the lack of interest in things that used to interest me. I thought maybe that's been due to me getting older but I do drink way more often than I did 10 years ago. Pre-pandemic I rarely drank unless it was a Friday or Saturday and I was around other people that were drinking. In those days I'd sometimes go a couple weeks without drinking any. Now I don't need it to be a weekend and I don't need anyone else around. I actually kinda prefer no one else being here because people are generally a pain in the arse haha

I've never needed to be around people in order to drink.

I'm not buying more until I find a special bottle. What I mean by that is no more run of the mill stuff. If I find a special bottle I'll buy it. If I find something that I haven't tried that is supposed to be good, I'll buy it. I drink so seldom that I can get by for a very long time with what I have. Anything more than one or two drinks messes with my sleep. That's my favorite part of the day.

Time for the weekly bump of this thread. I have enough beam for probably 2 drinks then it's miller lite time. Just poking around the house tonight doing some odds and ends that I've been putting off. The main one is cleaning the deep fryer. Horrible job but one that has to get done.

Followed the microbrew trail last night. Temptress Milk Stout -Garland, TX, Tin Roof Quaked Oatmeal Stout - Baton Rouge, LA, North Coast Pranqster Belgian Style Golden Ale - Fort Bragg, CA & Left Hand Peanut Butter Milk Stout - Longmont, CO. As always the Temptress is awesome, first time trying the Pranqster and I really, really enjoyed it but the Left Hand Peanut Butter, is just too sweet.

P3 is just unacceptable! Any of my fellow drunkards getting after it this weekend?
Pouring some Bourbon Rye Old Fashions.
winter storm warning tmrw...talking about 6-12" of snow! yeah Spring!!

Going to do some beam/coke here in a bit and switch over to some delicious miller lite after a couple. That's the plan anyhow. May go hang with the neighbor for a while which will push me to delicious miller lite sooner because I don't want to carry all that down there. Way easier to throw a bag of delicious miller lite on the handlebar of the quad and ride down. No snow here thankfully....just rain and 40.

Ok....ended up being way more beam than I intended. Never switched over to delicious miller lite but think I will now for a couple beers. Been reflecting on the day a bit. Dropped my truck off yesterday to have a built transmission put in so I can hit the Cummins with more power. Go to pick it up today and they have it still on a jack running the back tires. Guy comes in and says the input shaft had a nick in it and is leaking so they have to pull the trans again to replace the input shaft.....it's a $7200 transmission. I definitely want it done right but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was expecting it to be good to go right out of the gate.

Another observation.....I've seen it brought up here and there on the news but lawsuits against places with "boneless wings" should be allowed. I just ate some fantastic garlic Parm boneless wings from a place here but those things, while delicious, aren't even close to being wings. They're nuggets if anything else.
