Corona Drinking Thread (renamed) (10 Viewers)

Swilling some beam/coke celebrating getting that piece of work Hyundai out of our driveway today. Car had an engine replaced under warranty 2 years ago. Last week at 58000 on the new engine it threw a p1326 code that says excessive main bearing play. My gut says it was pinging from trashy valves due to being a GDI engine but I wasn't willing to gamble it on a gut feeling. Did a top engine clean, tank of premium, and traded that thing in. Wife now has a new Honda CR-V which should last awhile.....hopefully.

Mic drop. Well done.

The car god's always get theirs. Spent the night at the neighbors using his lift. Did a lower ball joint and cv shaft on my daughter's truck and found the upper ball joint on passenger side probably should be done and a front hub. Then drank a bunch of beers with the neighbor. Going to order those other parts tomorrow and that'll be nexts weeks excuse for use to hang out in his pole barn drinking beer.

Tonight’s lineup - among 4 people, btw. Cab Franc heavy on 3 of the 4. Consumed from right to left. Usually not a French fan, but the Creation Pomerol was excellent. Plum foreword with a bit of bell pepper, vanilla, leather, with a silky mouthfeel. $49 at Total wine.

The second one, Bougrier, was less complicated, but smooth and drinkable. A surprising French value at $16 (@TW). Smelled like prosciutto, but tasted of Worcestershire, raisin, subtle leather, and clay. Continued to open as it was consumed. Ridiculous value for the price.

The Rosso (a nice Sangiovese) was consumed with gnocchi in marinara with fresh basil and Parmesan. Honestly, it needed it. It was tasty, but needed food paired to balance it.

The Vice Cab Franc is a favorite of mine. It’s Anise heavy but balanced with dry dark berries and mushroom.

Overall, a really nice flight.

So y'all are back together?

I generally like the French stuff more than the Italian stuff. Not really a fan of gnocchi, but that sounds tasty.

I never really stopped hanging out with him completely. I just cut back on it and that helps. I'll hang out until I catch myself complaining all the time about him then I'll be scarce for a few weeks. I think I'm learning I can take his self centered stuff to a point then I gotta have a break.

He's a decent enough guy. I'm not sure he even realizes how self centered he is and if I ever said anything to him about it I'm sure it would hurt him. That's why it's hard for me to figure out how to handle it. I don't want to be an arse to him so I just try to deal with it and it's hard for me to figure out how to do that without it bothering me. I said something to him a couple years ago about something he did and it hurt him then. After that I just stopped saying anything.

Miller lite night.....been in a horrible sleep pattern lately. I'll sleep for an hour maybe 2 then wake up and be up all night. I'm on day 4 of that. I've tried benedryl, doing nothing, a few beam/coke, and nothing has kicked me out of the pattern. Tonight I'm trying a bunch of miller lite and seeing if just being dog sheet drunk will keep me asleep. I have to be up early so there's a line there I can't cross.

I'm heading to an elementary school for a pancake breakfast with the youngest. It's too early for pancakes.
