I wish I could've gone to see Petrucci but I heard him and their wive's band Meanstreak was excellent.

They were. Meanstreak was much more than I expected with good musicians and an excellent singer. I had read somewhere that they were a thrash band and that was totally not true. Progressive classic metal I'd say.
Petrucci, Portnoy, and Larue played like they'd been together for years instead of months. Professionals.

Well Larue was the bassist on all of Petrucci's solo albums so yes, they've been together for years and not months. LaRue plays on all the G3 concerts and Petrucci has done multiple of those. Also, practically all of Dream Theater married Meanstreak.

Right. Meanstreak still has the Portnoy and Petrucci wives on guitars and Myungs wife on bass.
