Could this be the most pivotal bye week of DAs tenure here? (1 Viewer)

This is reminding me of the Haslett years. A mediocre team that wins just enough to be average but not bad enough to make changes. If it wasn't for the bottom falling out in the '05 season for reasons outside of football I wonder how long Haslett would have stuck around. Difference is this is worse. During the Haslett years the idea of the Saints winning a championship was just a pipe dream but now we know what this franchise can be.

Nick said last year that the FO want to give Dennis 3 years.

Nick has been quite. It looks like Pete is gonna be a scapegoat to buy Dennis another year.

Which is gonna suck, because we don't know if there will be a good HC candidate like a Ben Johnson in a year. Maybe get Eric Beinemy in a year.

If I'm DA...Im locking PC in his office with the all 22 of miami (& denver :mad1: )'s this season and Varsity Blues. Varsity Blues BSJ!?!?!!? Why is that?

I'll tell you why, because PC is going to push back and say, "there's no way I can change the offense during the bye week"....now you can clap back and say..."well James Van Der Beek installed a spread offense during haftime of the district title game surely you can unf* our offense in a week"

That sounds like a new OC not a new HC.
But what OC is going to come in and work under a lame duck Allen?

I wouldn't want to coach under a HC that I know I have a better grasp of organizational leadership than

You're either going to have to promote from within.....or hire someone as dirty as Urban Meyer's thumb

It'll probably a tired retread like his OC hires in Oakland.

This mentality is the crux of the problem. It's one thing to run away with the division in dominant fashion, but to barely win the weakest division in football and then use that as an excuse not to make major changes will result in one disappointing season after another. I'd rather us lose out the rest of the year if it means cleaning house.

My only concern is does this front office have the stones to fire him if they did indeed lose out

Not really, they'll search for reasons to keep him. It's amazing how we've gone from the goal of a ring to just barely making the playoffs being the goal. Mickey needs to go he's too old for change at this point.

Imagine how screwed we are if Ben Johnson goes to the Bucs and Artie Smith finally gets his QB in Atlanta.
