Could this be the most pivotal bye week of DAs tenure here? (1 Viewer)

Imagine how screwed we are if Ben Johnson goes to the Bucs and Artie Smith finally gets his QB in Atlanta.
Embrace mediocrity.

At least Eric has a rep about being intense with discipline, but if he comes in two years. We will probably be going through a full on rebuild.

If this team does not make playoffs this year, heads need to roll & Dennis Allen better be first out the building.

If the Saints make the playoffs, Allen will be retained, even if they are blown out in the first playoff game.

Nothing will change in this bye week.

Nick said last year that the FO want to give Dennis 3 years.

Nick has been quite. It looks like Pete is gonna be a scapegoat to buy Dennis another year.

Which is gonna suck, because we don't know if there will be a good HC candidate like a Ben Johnson in a year. Maybe get Eric Beinemy in a year.
It is hard to imagine any good OC candidates agreeing to work for a lifetime loser like DA, who will hopefully at least be on some kind of hot seat next year.

It’s more likely for DA to sign Musgrave, O’Brien or some other behind the times retread.

Throw in the lack of greatness in the QB room and I sadly predict a very underwhelming OC hire, if DA throws Pete under the bus.

People keep forgetting this other key point: DA only knows people connected to Payton, particularly on offense. He does not have Sean's connections around the league.

If we go with EB we might have to trade Olave. If he can't handle some yelling from DC4, he's gonna curl up in the fetal position when playing for EB.

I doubt FO would hire him for that exact reason. They want relax coaches lol. Eric would make Payton look like a Dennis in comparison how tough he is on fundamentals.

I don't think it's that with Olave...maybe he sees Carr the way some of us see Carr as an usurper QB undeserving of chewing him (Olave) out when his own sheet (Carr) isn't up to par.

Which comes back to coaching...no one is holding Carr or anyone accountable leaving it up to some guys trying to do it themselves, but those same guys are messing up themselves and their stuff is going unchecked

Assuming Loomis and DA scapegoats Pete and gets another season no matter what happens, who is running toward the T.V in 2024 and watching another lost year of a Dennis Allen led team? Saints fans better be smarter than that, for me, this whole situation with the current team has transformed into content and comedy for me. I'm not upset because this is comical. I don't even really watch the games but I still follow what happens via podcasts/local radio.

You can still love this franchise while holding them accountable.

It seems we keep boxing in our options, by thinking we are a playoff caliber team. You don't have to do a total rebuild, to not keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Carr and Pete work about as good as Pete and Andy worked. We had just cleared Drew's money off the books. Not only is that a lot of money tied up, we still don't know if it is, Carr or , Pete, the O line.......or what? Something has to change after the bye week, or we will go into next season still not knowing what we have in Carr.

Speaking of being boxed in. Penning never looked good enough in practice to start for this team at LT. IMHO trying to force feed him to us early at LT, lost us some games. Other than Andy, every QB for the Saints has been injured...............Drew2x, Taysom 2X, Teddy, Trevor, Jamies2X, and Carr........am I right? Loomis extends Ruiz's contract, and the next game he gets blown up by LuVu at the Panthers.

Perhaps it is not the QB. Perhaps it is an O line that hasn't protected the QB going back to Drew's last season. Armstead's leaving opened the flood gates to bad line play.

My point is, we need to find out what we have w/ Carr, and sitting Pete and beefing up the O line is the cheapest way to find out about Carr's future here.
