Culture change and reset needed (merged) (10 Viewers)

I don’t see this improving for next year unless we hit home runs in the draft and not just one player. We need multiple draft picks to be productive next year. I don’t see how we can improve any other way with our cap status.

Also, Carolina has been playing respectable since Young came back, we’re in the basement in the worst division in the league.

Loomis and the ENTIRE staff including the cheerleaders has to go. I just don’t see how you can justify keeping him in charge.
It’s not so much that the Saints lost cause we all knew they would but it’s lack of effort and extremely poor play especially on defense.
Loomis time should be up. Kick upstairs as admin/Finance role. That’s what he does well. Was never a true football GM of gravitas.

New model. A real football GM that can be an alpha over a Sean Payton or similar type. Loomis makes it happen but seems like he just executes wish list from the head coach.

Just becuse a GM is a football guy does not mean he'll be a good one. Matt Millen has an extensive football background and was maybe one of the worst GMs of all time. The best quality a GM can have is finding the right guy to hire as HC and giving him all he needs to succeed

Total reboot is needed. Fire Loomis, the entire coaching staff and the medical staff. It's simply astounding the Saints' players can't do the basic things a professional football player is supposed to be able to do. DA put together an awful team, and Loomis kneecapped it by his ridiculous contracts.

Its astounding the Saints are 80 something million in the hole for next year and have the worst team in the league.

Where we are is the result of Payton bullying him into trying for one more Super Bowl by putting the franchise in cap hell. I’m sure he was worried Payton would walk had he taken a strong stand against mortgaging the future. But a really good GM would have called Payton’s bluff who was going nowhere while he still had Drew.

Loomis might not be directly to blame for the lack of effort on the field but this is his team that he put together. Our defense that had us down two scores in two possessions was pretty healthy. That's a tough position for any vet to be in let alone a late round rookie.

His recklessness with contracts and the draft put us in the position we are now. He has killed any chance we had to add depth to the team and we had to sign casts offs as starters in FA. Due to his cap management style we've let legitimate talent walk.

He identified Allen as our head coach despite what we all came to see as some rather obvious flaws once we were more familiar with him and let's not forget if it was up to him we'd still be suffering under Allen. He also decided to keep on pushing the chips all in with Allen instead of resetting, hell he tried to trade for Watson which would have made our current position so much worse.

I was one hoping Rizzi would step up and was pulling for him to get the job but I think it’s time for a complete change. We need an entire overhaul of everything from coaching to trainers…just everywhere.

Remember when Sean came in and one of the first things he did was got rid of Wayne Gandys recliner (I think it was Gandy) and just held everyone accountable and took control from day 1. I think we need another changing of the guard, wipe our hands clean and start over.

Tonight’s performance has been one of the worst games I’ve seen from this team in a long time and it’s everyone. Seriously, has there been anything positive to take from this game that I’m missing?
It happened on national TV.
There is no where to run.
No way to spin that loss.

This team needs new direction at the top. There is no quick turnaround. The post-Payton continuity experiment has failed. No more toes-in-the-water soft rebuild. And the organization needs to be honest about what is happening because honesty respects the fans and will be absolutely necessary for the fans to keep buying tickets and show some patience with what the Saints are doing.

Not to excuse Rizzi, but the team was eliminated from the playoffs, nothing Rizzi was going to do was going to suddenly give our JV team enough of a jolt to do anything in 20 degrees weather.

Culture? If I had a dollar for every time I've heard Loomis say that word.. didn't you know? He thinks our culture is among the best!

Reality: Drew and Sean built outstanding culture, and Loomis completely ruined it in less than 3 years.
