Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups (3 Viewers)

Sure, feel free. I definitely learned a lot and there are a few things I would do differently. I will say that the DTV genie system is really nice (although this probably isn't the thread to discuss that :hihi: ), although you are limited as to how many boxes you can have (4 total). You will want to run homerun RG6 for both the DTV and cable internet installers. It made both installations super easy that they didn't have to wire into the house.

Yeah, I already use the Genie system. Just the wife, kid and I, so the 4 isn't a problem, as I just plan on splitting the rooms they are used in, since I don't see a case where we'd want more than 4 different things on. Like right now, I have one going to my room, bath room, and outside tv. Another used for office and Kitchen tvs, and my kid's room and the Living room have one each. Using IR repeaters and hdmi splitters and long hdmi runs currently.

After a full year of receiving cable even after canceling it, Cable One finally made the switch to digital. However, I'm still receiving local ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW in my master bedroom and living room. My tv in my workout room is an old tube tv so I'm getting nothing. I had purchased an antenna to mount in the attic for when this time came but it won't net me much more than I'm already receiving except in the workout room. May just try to sell it.

Antennas suck for me, too.

Kodi is amazing but it took me a while to wrap my brain around.

Really, the best is going in with several people, one has cable, another Hulu, another Netflix and just share passwords.

I just loaded Kodi onto my FireStick. It's extremely overwhelming, so if there are any tips you could share I'd greatly appreciate it.

Netflix increases prices.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/offic...0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--

7.99 per month for 1 t.v. standard Def.

9.99 a month for 2 t.v.s HD quality

11.99 a month for 4 t.v.s ultra HD quality

I guess my question is anyone seeing faster download streams with the 11.99 content? Is there even a reason to keep netflix with Kodi around.

7.99 was a nice price point, 11.99 while its not alot of money is close to double, and i'm not sure I like this practice without increasing what i'm getting as a consumer.

I think i'm done with Netflix.

Amazon/Kodi. (not even sure I need amazon, but I get prime for the 2 days shipping. The streaming is just a bonus.

EDIT: After reading more, I guess these prices have been in effect since October, however if you were a current subscriber, you were grandfathered in at the lower rate. They are now just taying away the grandfathering for long time subscribers.

The 4k quality for Netflix is really nice and they offer most if not all of their in house stuff (House of Cards, etc) in 4k. I don't use it for much else.

Yeah, I don't currently own a 4k TV.

I didn't even notice they upped the 2 t.v. HD plan to 9.99. I'm currently paying $7.99.

I guess my only complaint is eventually you run out of stuff you really wanna watch on netflix...... (And Kodi has everything).

I'm ok with having those there's nothing on here moments at $7.99, less so at $9.99, and even less so anypoint up from here increasing equally with the cost.

As with everything tho, they are up to 43.7 million subscribers and are going to maximize their window while they can.

I agree on all points. Now that I think about it, if I can finish up a couple of series, there's no reason really to keep it.

And this has been my problem with Netflix releasing seasons all at one time. Granted people, like myself, can do their binge watching over the weekend, but they can easily do it for free by creating a fake account for the free trial.

Can you elaborate some more for me? I'm not super well versed.
