I suppose that I’d go full blown ‘Dan Snyder‘ too once I realized how dumb I am even as a billionaire.
If you want to feel better about not being a billionaire, or a rich expat, I've met a few of each, and it seems like in either of those situations, unmoored from the restraints of societal convention, if you have bad traits, your worst traits have the opportunity to metastasize and grow like tumors.

I forgot that this was tied to a trade. Yeah, Russ and Watson can go back and forth. Matter of fact, it's Watson's since broski's was fully guaranteed. Think this is another situation where they went on hype. We dodged a bullet because imagine how that man would look with DA and Sneaky Pete...lol
Right, the expectations would’ve been thru the roof. And the roof would’ve vibrated off with boos.

I know we got the Dolphins pick but still you lost a whole year going forward. Ditka was a fool to be in on it. Myself personally, just didn't like it.
Ditka at least left the Saints with two things:

• solid lines on both sides
• ample cap space

The 2000 Saints added a starting QB (Jeff Blake), traded for a backup (Aaron Brooks), three new wide receivers (Joe Horn, Jake Reed, Willie Jackson), a new tight end (Andrew Glover), upgraded at LG to fully solidify the OL (Wally Williams) two run-stuffing DTs to go next to La’Roi Glover (Norman Hand, Martin Chase), a new middle linebacker (Darrin Smith), and four new defensive backs (Darren Perry, Chris Oldham, Fred Thomas, Kevin Mathis).

The bad apples in subsequent years soured things up enough to kick off the Payton era, but that 2000 squad always has a soft spot in my heart.

We gave Carr a $150M contract.

Yeah, I know it's not as bad (maybe). But still. Also, TB is going to win the division with a QB they paid $4M.
Mayfield will get paid this coming year if they keep him though

A funny thing about that offseason is that the acquisition at WR that everyone was most excited about was Jake Reed.

I don't think it was the entire draft because we had already traded our 2nd for Eddie Kennison. But at least RIcky was a productive player and we got two 1sts and a 3rd from the Dolphins for him.
This isn’t brought up enough ( when people say that the RW trade was bad). The RW trade from New Orleans brought back a decent haul.

I'd add that in retrospect, the (then) Redskins really didn't do much with all of those picks between combining them for trades or bad picks.

They traded one of the Saints picks and two of theirs to Chicago to move up to pick Champ Bailey, but he was traded away after 5 seasons and had his most productivity with the Broncos.

They also chose LaVarr Arrington with the 2000 first (2nd overall) that we sent them. That was a home run.

Other than that, they didn't have any draft picks that worked out for them.
