[Deleted X post] Rizzi’s interview was impressive per Nick Underhill (1 Viewer)

Rizz is not the end of the world, it would be a dark horse selection, but for the "no retread" crew, I think he could be an interesting pick. He managed to stick around Miami under multiple coaches, meaning the new HC saw enough in him to keep him around. And in Miami and NO he eventually was named assistant/associate head coach. Maybe he is not the guy, but multiple head coaches in the league seem to think highly of him.

Are you privy to Brady’s interview results and the people the team has used as references to vet him out?

What makes you so sure that his interview process was 100% clean and that he put on a great presentation that makes him the clear cut best guy?
I’m not

I just stated my own opinion. I’d rather swing for the fences in the situation we’re in. But again that’s my opinion.

I don’t think anyone has real visibility into what they are actually doing or thinking. They have a 6 person committee with input on the HC hire. Thats makes it tough to get a read.

I for sure thought were getting MM but the more I think about it - letting Kubiak go interview for lateral jobs while under contract might suggest we get an offensive HC like a Brady , Moore or Kingsbury. Meaning a HC that calls plays for the offense.

But I don’t know. If anyone tells you they know after Glenn took NYJ is not telling the truth at this point.

For those that cannot see this clearly, Rizzi is less prepared and a lesser fit to be a head coach than Dennis Allen. How are we even considering him as an option? It would only be to throw in the towel while getting things in order for a couple of years. And I don’t agree with that approach. Start now to start righting the ship and to start building back up.

Understood…

You don’t think McCarthy would call plays here as he did in Dallas?

Why did several leaders of the team speak up for Rizzi and want him as the coach for next year if he's bad? I know we as fans have our opinion, but if several players are vouching for someone, then that says something about them.

Max Crosby wanted to be traded if Pierce wasn’t hired. Players like stability and it’s a good ol’ boy network to begin with.

Change isn't always easy to deal with, so I get why a player may not want a new coaching staff. The good ol boy network is more prevalent with Owners/GMs and even coaches (Payton hiring his buddies) than players.

On one hand the players advocating for a HC is how we ended up with DA.

OTOH, I really don’t think Rizzi got a fair shake. He took over a team built in DA’s eyes, and he could just change small things. I’m curious how it would look if he were able to mold the team into his vision.
How would you feel if they gave him a three year deal and he kept everything as is?
