[Deleted X post] Rizzi’s interview was impressive per Nick Underhill (1 Viewer)

Nick deleted it because the comments section is getting to him. Lol
Nick is a great reporter and we are lucky to have him. However, sometimes he needs thicker skin. Sometimes I wonder if he floats ideas for management to see what the reaction is.

Hire a CEO HC and every few years find yourself, if successful, where Dan Campbell is at this year. The other option is to be mediocre and not have to worry about it.

Yep it was in his article yesterday. I think Nick is just tired of people being rude on Twitter and the result is that more and more information is only going to be delivered to subscribers.
People are being rude on Twitter? (Clutching my pearls and making that statement with the drawl of a southern belle). :happy0005:

Tear this apart at your leisure.

I think we can all agree that the Saints aren't going to be competitive for the next 2-3 years, until they clear cap hell and upgrade the talent level.

If Loomis says he wants somebody he's familiar with, Rizzi is already in the building as a 2-3 year bridge coach and he would be cheap.

I fear that if you bring in Mccarthy or Brady, they're just going to be fired anyway in 3 years to make way for the next guy.

If you are saying let’s have a coach to babysit until we are ready to win again, then yeah. The coaching search is then a farce. We don’t need to look far for a patsy coach. But you need to accept the fact that we really are going nowhere for 3 years.

no. There’s 28 people we should hire before rizzi.

you don’t hire someone who would be terrible based off a short sighted assumption that others won’t do better. Pure conjecture with no reality.
I’d rather swing for the fences w Brady at this point. If it don’t work then just move on.

That’s not what’s going to happen I suspect. You get McCarthy or if he has other offers then you get Rizzi.

I think Brady’s upside is higher than anyone’s. His downside is lower too but what do we have to lose ?

Welcome to the NFL.

Have you ever noticed that the top few teams are always the top few teams? That's because breaking into that group is not easy. And for everyone else, you're looking for a new HC every 3 years or so. If the Saints were able to land their top target, the odds are that they would still be looking for a new HC in 3 years. That's not just the Saints. That's the NFL. The success rate of new HCs is low. So, is it likely that the Saints will be looking for a new HC in 3 years? Yes. That's the norm.

You go Kafka among 27 others before rizzi.

Do we really want Loomis selecting the team for a yes man coach? Or do we want a coach with a vision that can help set us up for the future? Hiring Rizzi is an absolute nightmare scenario.

Let’s say we were looking for an OC for 2025. By what ppl are saying, is that they’d fire Klint Kubiak, Janocko, Benton and Dennison IMMEDIATELY for Joe Brady? Yea I’d have to be convinced he’s better. And you want him as HC? Why because he might be better than Da? The logic lol

I never said Rizzi was my ideal choice, but he's already there, the players love and will play for him, and he's cheap.

Plus, I thought he did a fair job with the bad hand he was dealt.

Didn't the players back Dennis Allen too up until the Atlanta apology?

Agree.

You almost need to luck into the next Payton because hiring a 61 year old ain't it. Realistically, nothing happens as long as Loomis is here. He's the Al Davis of GMs.
