[Deleted X post] Rizzi’s interview was impressive per Nick Underhill (149 Viewers)

No matter who is hired, half the fans will hate it and half the fans will love it.

With a Rizzi hire I would have to see he who fills out the staff with before I could say I like it or not.
Rizzi has that coach O or even Dan Campbell feel. There's no downside to hiring him. If the season goes to pieces like it did for the Raiders interim turned HC he'll be gone in a year and you'll have a cleaner cap, and better draft position to reset.

There's only upside w/ Rizzi. In a way he's cleaner than Weaver, Glenn, Kafka, and Brady in that there's no projection on how he handles the HC duties. The 8 game audition shed light into that already. The other options you just don't know.

And they call me negative now. Mick can't be that tone-deaf.

At this stage, I honestly don't care. Just get someone in there to get the ball rolling. I'm okay with Rizzi. I hated the DA hire solely because he was flat out bad. Rizzi has fire and passion and that's all one can ask for.

Whoever is hired will be facing a massive uphill battle. Of course the players want who they are familiar with. No one likes change in their workplace.

I dunno you say there is no downside but it's hard to have multiple years of continuity when your head coach doesn't specialize in offense or defense. Find the right coordinator and if they're successful they'll be hired away in a couple years.

Yep, there is not a single candidate out there that is universally loved by everyone. They all have their warts; pros and cons.

We just have to trust the process and we all, myself included, need to be cognizant that we aren’t in the room and aren’t privy to everything happening with these interviews.

I'm ok with giving him a 2-3 year contract and see what he can do with his own staff and players, especially since the players seem to like him... which can go a long way. But honestly the bigger thing to me is because we need to get the salary cap fixed and they can take that time to do so. Then if he hasn't worked out...move on to a coach who will find this situation a little more appealing a few years from now (and most likely a new GM as well.)

He hires Rizzi, he is going out the door with him in 12 months. Promoting an interim coach, never really works. Its only happened a handful of times and most, if not all of them, have ended in a bad way. But also, history says promoting an interim to HC - that HC is on a shorter timeline than external hires. So Rizzi goes 4-13, he is gone and Im not sure Loomis can possibly survive 2 coaching hire duds in 4 years. To that end, Im all for it.

Interims also need to prove something while they are interims. Not just Dennis with pixy stix. It would be laughable to hire an interim coach who went 3-5, and ended the season on a 4 game losing streak. LAUGHABLE.

We are building towards 2026 and beyond. Id be perfectly fine with these lame ducks being the loss sponges in 2025 and ushering in a new era with a new GM and new HC to go with our better looking cap and probably top 5 draft pick in 26.

I cant think of too many instances where players having too much of a say in a HC hire ended up being a good thing.

Rizzi is interviewing for our HC position, and on the radar as a special teams coach in Denver and Chicago. Let that sink in.

Except that the things that he should have been able to improve on like undisciplined penalties and effort in the 2nd half of games, didn't.
