N/S Denver media absolutely shreds Payton.. (3 Viewers)

These guys don’t have a clue. If Payton is screaming at Wilson it’s because he’s playing three dimensional chess - it’s for a purpose that is strategic and a bet to pay dividends down the road.

I’m with the poster above who (in effect) said that Payton hurt a couple of columnists’ feelings and they’re serving up payback. Payton doesn’t give a crap. They’re lucky to have him.

Players should always worry more when Payton doesn't yell at you for mistakes than when he does. If he doesn't yell, he's probably done with you.

Non-Saints, but I thought it was worth mentioning. This is a bit much IMO..

Interesting. SP inherited an awful team and immediately improved them with basically no new personnel. Please fire him Denver so Gayle can get rid of Allen and re-hire Payton.

Payton has already matched the most wins that the Broncos have had in the last 6 seasons. A lot of that team are used to being losers. They are going to be an inconsistent team until they all learn to be winners. I didn't watch the game, but I would not put it past Payton to allow them getting their butts kicked on national TV to create a teaching moment.

It's year 1 in a rebuild and they already had people talking dark horses for the playoffs. The last 3 games are against the Patriots, Chargers and Raiders. They have a realistic chance at finishing with double digit wins for the first time since 2015 when they won the Super Bowl. That the local media is crushing him during this time and under those circumstances is crazy.
Exactly. The Broncos fans are being typical fans. The same would happen no matter which broken down team Payton would have signed with. No doubt a lot of folks in Denver assumed Sean was going to turn Wilson into Brees or Brady, and that their dumpster-fire team was going to be a champion overnight.

Giving a coach a 2 or 3 year 'honeymoon' to right the ship is what most people should expect unless it becomes clear that the new coach's presence has become destructive to the team and the staff. Despite the number of 'swings & misses' by Dennis Allen this year, I still believe that Loomis will stick to the plan of having him as our head coach for another year.

Even though the team has definitely underperformed this year, it's hard to clean house as long as there is a legitimate chance of getting the Saints into the playoffs. There's no doubt that things could have been a lot better this year. But it could have been a lot worse despite our cupcake schedule.

For fans both in Denver & New Orleans, it's best just to strap ourselves to our spectator seats and try not to get too demanding for change to take place. You just gotta love your team and let the process happen.

I know my view on this isn’t popular, but I’m glad the arrogant coach is not here. I’m not a DA fan but we we’ve been stuck in mediocre since winning the Super Bowl. He coached teams with great talent and couldn’t put it together.

Gregg Williams leaving Roman Harper on Vernon Davis cost the Saints their second ring.

The refs flagrantly cost the Saints their third ring.

Do you even understand how difficult it is to get ONE ring?

The difference between the two teams couldn't have been different though. DA inherited a team that won 9 games despite some of the worst circumstance a team could have faced and the team got worse. Payton came to a team that hadn't won 9 games since 2016 and should get them back to that 9 win mark in year 1.
