Derek Carr practiced today. (3 Viewers)

Ridiculous. How does someone keep getting concussions yet the team thinks it's a good idea to keep trotting him out there. It's just further proof that teams don't care about players. They have learned nothing from Tua last year. They only care about trying to win a meaningless game.

Carr must be messed up in the head to even want to play as bad as he's been. Bro sit your butt down, get healthy and try to figure out why you can't see wide open receivers.

Completely unrelated but I figured that this would be a good place to tell a story.

In little league there was a kid on the team who was an all star when we were winning. He'd run from right field and catch pop ups in left field. He was a good athlete. When we were winning.

Every time that we were losing, he would have a horrible injury and would to be removed from the game and his mom would drive away with him.

He was always good for the next game but rarely practiced because he was too injured.

Just had to get that off of my chest

Thanks
Knew a guy who pointed fingers at professional football players. We call him bush!

A friend of mine was concussed on the job. (police officer) She was out for a week but when she returned she was having problems. Eventually she had to retire and go on disability. Thirty years later and she can't do simple math in her head and has to read with one eye closed.
Almost exactly what I've been going through. I keep trying to "tough it out", but it's not that kind of injury.

As a newer member to this forum, I am not keen on many of what look like inside jokes to me (do I wanna know why every poll says tacoes as an option? why is it spelled tacoes? my spell check doesn't like that).

In this thread I have seen some absolutely reprehensible posts regarding a player's injury with ample time/opportunity to drop a "ha, just kidding" that has not been taken. It is utterly sickening to share a space and fanhood with those of you who are carrying on that way. I wish I hadn't opened this thread, to be fully honest. A bout of insomnia has me now feeling a mixture of anger and sadness. I hope you never have to endure being spoken of the way you've spoken of others.

SR has been an amazing forum for Saints fans for many years, but I’m just going to be honest. Once Winston was signed and Drew retired of course there was a battle for the QB position which in all honesty Winston won between him and Hill. However, after that or during that there became some real division on this board. To this day the board has not resembled its former self. It’s still one of the best places out of all NFL teams, but it’s littered with division, hateful stuff, despicable stuff, etc. There’s still massive divisive stuff taking place because Winston isn’t the starter or because we went with Carr who hasn’t lived up to the billing. Winston supporters think he can still start in this league which many don’t and really it seems most GMs think he’s a backup now, and a lot of people just aren’t happy with Carr. The backup is usually one of the most important and famous people in a town that supports a bad football team, here with that QB being Winston the divide continues to take place.

It’s honestly sad to see

Sports fans, in general, have become quite toxic.

Message boards (outside of this one, until more recently) have always been a bit toxic.

So here we are now, unfortunately.

Tacoes is an acronym. I believe it is: The Alternate (or Above??) Choices Offered Equally Suck.

And for you and the rest who have a problem with the notion that Carr could fake an injury, there are many of us with trust issues who no longer believe what we’re told when it comes to all things NFL. Call me heartless, paranoid, tin foil, lacking intellect or whatever else makes you feel better, but I have no problem entertaining theories and ideas that things may not be what they seem in a league that has time and time again shown me it is deceptive.

I also grew up in a world surrounded by con artists so I’m quick to be suspicious if something doesn’t sit right.

Sticks and stones.

Gotta be honest, all the intangible body language / leadership / energy / buzz / losing the locker room stuff that people merrily attribute to players and coaches always seems to be something that suits an agenda, narrative or pre-conceived analysis.

It's very intangibility makes it hard to refute, but by the same measure it's equally hard to prove correct. The way someone answered an interview question, the cryptic tweet about duck ponds being filled in an early winter etc. - it's hardly undeniable evidence, is it?

I've seen plenty of people pull out these 'factors' over multiple seasons and in almost every case I can remember, it was a gripe about injury or performance being dressed up as something else, or someone positioning an attack on their least favourite Saint of the moment.

I don't expect agreement on my viewpoint on this, it's just my observation.
