Derek Carr practiced today. (1 Viewer)

That's why it's important Carr finishes out this season. The FO has to sell the fans hope every year. 2021 it was Jameis. 2022 it was Jameis again because he got hurt in 2021. 2023 it's Carr. If Carr misses the rest of the season I think it could be Carr again because he got hurt. If we play out this thing with DA and Carr and it doesn't work over the next month, they have to come up with something new to sell us.
Technically they don’t have to sell us anything. You will still buy their season tickets. The only effect of the fans is booing. And selling their tickets to the opponents fans. The covid year proved that fans aren’t required. So you can wish, post hate, reach down for stats and reasons why this or that guy sucks, it doesn’t mean anything. Mickey on the air called the saints his team. Not yours or mine. His, or more accurately ”our” meaning Gayle and co. We’re just customers. Did they ask the fans for their input before they pursued Carr? Nope. For the record, I would’ve agreed and still do agree. Hes the only Qb that’s reliable. That I’m not a freaking nervous wreck watching. But I digress.

But I think the players themselves appreciate the fans. The fans thru social media have a way of getting to them. Football is modern day gladiator fights. They crave the roar of the crowd when they do something great. The pursuit of glory is their way, ask any Klingon they’ll tell you. Go watch the movie gladiator.

You can’t seriously believe this..
Nope..
Dead arse serious, and I really don't care of its popular to say so or not. Drew Brees at 40 years old had a defensive TACKLE land on him, crush his ribs into dust and came back and finished the half...then missed the next 7 games

Derek Carr had a Linebacker tackle him and got a "concussion" and some sore ribs that had them carrying him off the field like his arm (his throwing arm BTW) was going to fall off. Now 3 days later off 2 days rest he's back out practicing and looks "good"...nah I'm calling shenanigans.

For the "He wouldn't do that crowd"...He wouldn't?!?!?!
Would he throw away a 3rd down pass in minus territory instead of taking an easy first down throw because he had a tantrum? He did it - and told us It's in his personality to do just that. So a game where he's being booed by his home crowd and the (for all intents) QB4 is getting cheered you don't think he'd get in his feels and pull a move - "thatll show them"??? I totally can see it.

It's all good though, and last I checked it's a free country to have free thoughts whether it be popular or not. All imma say on this

Been a member since 2003. We had division when Haslett favored Brooks over Del'homme. That was a genius move that backfired. The same goes for present day. We still don't have our QB of the future, but the front office was bold enough to go get what they thought was the answer. Now it's play Carr for another year, and draft your QB of the future in this upcoming draft, or the 2025 draft.
Exactly, the fans need to deal with the reality. We’re not cutting Da and getting rid of Carr. Maybe Da if we lose out terribly. But that wont happen. So it’s a moot point. We’re tied to Carr for two more years, and he’s earned it. He’s not playing bad. Period. We have no one else on the roster that is even close to being as consistent as he. YT‘ers are modern day shock jocks, don’t take the bait.

WHAT???? Quit with the deep dark rabbit hole conspiracies. Just because your mind can think thru the most ridiculous possibility, and it sound a little plausible doesnt make it true. Now Carr is a spoiled child that seeks retribution and attention? LOLOL.

But you can’t prove it’s not true either 😂 idk why yall think your opinion outweighs anyone else’s when it’s simply an opinion.

Becasue its common sense, based on his previous stint w/ the Raiders and hundreds of interviews. By your logic, i can say he wears a cape and secretly fights crime at night. I cant prove that either, are you buying it?

What an awful analogy. The comment you responded to laid out much better reasoning as to why he feels the way he does. If you will throw the ball away upset to show a brand new teammate up on tv I don’t put anything past you. Thats sound logic and reasoning. And it’s an opinion like I said. People aren’t obligated to feel the way you do.

normally i agre with your posts, you caught me off guard with that one. I actually appreciate you or anyone else speaking your mind regardless of what is said. Id rather opinions that i dont agree with then straight up insinuations or veiled messages.. I didnt mean quit posting, i probably should re-word that.

What if i told you in his last 5 games carr has a 70 percent completion percentage ? For reference Brees career completion percentage is 67 percent..look we know carr hasn’t been great but, wow, the board has gotten way too extreme as far as the hate for him goes. He really hasn’t been as bad as everyone is implying.
Prior to that Jimmy Graham TD our offense hadn’t scored for 30+ quarters and the last 2 TDs were Thrown by Jameis

I think After Further Review said it best , he’s the empty yards emperor.

Don’t mistake activity with productivity

He threw away a live ball to show up a younger teammate.

It’s not just the performance it’s the attitude and fast he has destroyed the culture between our players.

Idc what he does from here on he’s no Saint , figuratively speaking and I hope soon literally speaking.

I had a friend slide off the hood of her car and hit her head. She died. Nothing major no moving car.

I had another friend get hit and go through the windshield of his car and lived….

My point. No impact is the same, especially when it comes to head trauma.

I can’t prove you right or wrong just seems a little too far out there for me. And you absolutely have every right to post your opinion. I have seen way far out there stuff on this board than what you post.

Its possible that he threw the ball away in frustration and blamed Olave. Thats something that happened in the moment that he was made aware of, then he moved on. Did he probably make a mistake? YES. But you're saying because he made this mistake, he's also a vindictive birch that fakes injuries to "show" them. Hes not trying to get elected, hes trying to win a Super bowl because he plays NFL QB. Why would he derail his own career to "show" anybody anything. But, its ok, to each his own. Let me say this real quick, that Bruce Irvin KO hit was brutal. The dome floor is concrete with a thin layer of fake grass. It was the medical staff that took Carr out not himself.

All I see from him are personality traits that can lend credence to my claim.

No biggie, I'm 50/50 on reading people, buuuut there's definitely something "there" with Carr that doesn't sit well with me that leads me to believe stuff like that is possible with him.

Examples:
He literally threw a possession out the window because a outside of the progression receiver didn't run a route good enough for him when that clear out route did exactly what it was supposed to.

He did it again with AT Perry in the RZ...so there's plenty of smoke in the "I have no problems with spiting my own face to show people up" personality traits.

He got snippy with the local media when asked about his suckage in the RZ.

Then to top it off getting booed when he came on the field while listening to Hill get cheered (toxic Hill fans - been telling yall aboutem)

Like I said...I'm 50/50 (more like 50.5/49.5) on reading people - I can be wrong, but he's definitely back suspiciously early and showing no issues with his "ribs/shoulder" and "concussion" given what I've seen from other QBs who had "similar" injuries. Cobine that suspicious early return with all of the above...its possible.

All IMO - but I'm at least "showing my work"
