Would you take less money to work for a boss you like that might not still be your boss, 12 or 24 months from now?He actually likes DA and respects him so that is IN our favor

You can say the same thing about the Jets or about 20 other teams.Would you take less money to work for a boss you like that might not still be your boss, 12 or 24 months from now?
But the Jets will be able and willing to overpay and so would Atl or the Panthers if interested, so it’s not the same thing. You can say the same thing about the Jets or about 20 other teams.
Reid, Tomlin, and BB are probably the only guarantees for the next three years no matter what.
That’s exactly it, if he plays. With less guaranteed money, the Saints can move on if 2023 looks more like 2022 instead of 2018-2021. If the Saints move on, now Carr is on the market with even less guaranteed money on the table than he could get this year.Still not really a pay cut. If he plays he get that $
If I had respect for him and knew he believed in me and that I thought I could win with him. It's not just that he likes DA. And if we win the division and maybe a playoff game DA is not going anywhere. I may not agree with it but he's notWould you take less money to work for a boss you like that might not still be your boss, 12 or 24 months from now?
Yeah but there has been no confirmation the Saints wanted less guaranteed $ , Just one guy saying it was from an anonymous sourceThat’s exactly it, if he plays. The contract Carr was just released from is the perfect example, he got a 3 year $121m extension through 2025 with $25m guaranteed in 2022, he was cut after earning only $25m.
David Carr on Derek’s qualifications for his next stop.
Meh, McDaniels is the new offensive coach, of course, he wants to run things his way until they get to a common ground.First time I’ve heard a legit explanation of why it didn’t work in LV.
Why in the world, if you have a QB who has been successful when he’s been given the freedom to change plays at the line of scrimmage, would you take that freedom away?
There is definitely more to the story than we’ll ever know.First time I’ve heard a legit explanation of why it didn’t work in LV.

I really don't understand the money thing with the Raiders. Yes, Davis is not independently wealthy, but the team is still making profits, right? All owners share revenue but are they in the hole or Davis is just cheap? There is definitely more to the story than we’ll ever know.
Cryptic Derek Carr tweet implies there was more to the story with Raiders exit
With his Las Vegas Raiders exit looming, star quarterback Derek Carr hints that there might be some tea to spill when it come to the Silver and Black...fansided.com
I remember during the season hearing that the Raiders are currently cash poor, and literally couldn’t afford to fire Josh McDaniels even if they wanted to.
Is it impossible to fathom that they simply can’t afford to pay Carr his salary, or better put, would prefer to hold onto that money?
There is a salary cap, but real cash is also a part of that.

Good coaches work to the strengths of their players.Meh, McDaniels is the new offensive coach, of course, he wants to run things his way until they get to a common ground.
Davis is one the least wealthy owners, and he's relatively cash poor compared to most of them (think about how many current owners who were already billionaires when they bought their team, whereas Davis' family wealth is all from the Raiders). So once the money starts flowing during the season they're able to pay everyone's salaries, but they're limited in how much they can pay up front in bonus money due to cash on hand. But on top of that, all guaranteed money has to be placed in escrow up front.I really don't understand the money thing with the Raiders. That's the truth. McDaniels was terrible in Denver -- came in and got rid of anyone he didn't think fit his system, and forced schemes that didn't fit the talent on hand. The team got much worse during his tenure, and it looks like he's doing the same thing in Vegas.Good coaches work to the strengths of their players.
McDaniels hasn’t shown much of an ability to do that.
