2. New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister

The injury: McAllister suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in a Sept. 24 game against the Tennessee Titans. The injury came less than two years after McAllister tore the ACL in his right knee.

The outlook: McAllister is 29 years old, and the fact that he has been a workhorse throughout most of his career brings questions about how much he has left. But he made a strong recovery from his first injury, and Reggie Bush wasn't able to show he could be an every-down back last season. Ideally, the Saints would like to use the pair as a 1-2 punch. The one bright spot in McAllister's injury is that it happened so early last season that he will have had almost a full year to recover.

how many cuts will he be able to make now that he tore a legament in each knee. I just dont think he will be the same deuce we know

It's a sad situation but in hindsight the Saints should have gotten what they could for him in a trade after drafting Reggie, you just can't tie up that much money in the RB position when every year there are 5th and 6th rounders starting for teams.

Sad but true. The Saints can not be a contender when they have to bank on back up RBs to carry the load at the end of each season due to Deauce staying hurt.

Lol, What "cuts" did Duece make before? He will come back and still run over *****es like it's his job. Wait, it is...

Deuce used to run over people AND juke them out of their socks... Watch Diat's video

Honestly I think that Deuce is going to be a shadow of his former self. There is no way he can make the cuts he needs to with unstable knees.

Duce is tough and will be back. The Saints will keep him and the combination of Duce, Bush and Thomas will have to be reckoned with.

the beauty of Deuce was his "cuts" ( alot of em anyway ) were mere mis-direction moves with his upper body. And he was ( and hopefully still is ) very smooth, never broke stride to "Stop and Juke " a defender. For him it was enough to get a little daylight rather than a full lane.

Two words for anyone questioning a player's ability to come back from operations on both knees - Terry Allen.

Love Deuce but we have Pieree.

Deuce is getting paid too much.

Sorry fellas, but we don't need Deuce.

Great guy, but on the field we don't need him.

Are you kidding me? You're seriously telling me that having Deuce there had nothing to do with Reggie's effectiveness? That Deuce-Reggie wasn't the best 1-2 RB punch in the league in 2006? That we would have had the same amount of success that year without him? That losing him had nothing to do with our sub-par performance in 2007?
