Diabolical!!! How can the Saints be this bad! [mod edit] (16 Viewers)

Guess some of you haven’t realized that, on top of injuries, many of our players has mailed it in already
They had to actually have it first in order for them to be able to 'mail it in'. :covri:

I hate this excuse. It’s a pathetic one. For a team to be completely void of depth, others then just Dennis Allen have to of failed. Failure to coach up talent, failure to accumulate talent in depth by GM and/or coaches, pick your poison. It’s still failure. And we’re still a bad team.
Context… read…. He named teams that had injuries and kept playing well…. I pointed out the reality…. If your backups are garbage, you aren’t going to win when the starters go down.

Feel free to continue your complaining now…

Lions have over 31% of their week 1 starters on IR or out due to injury. Raiders the same. Some teams are built with a “next man up mentality”.
Yea…. You win with good players, no mentality. If your backups ups are good, you have a chance to play well, if they are bad, you don’t have a shot.

Mentality does have al lot to do with it but talent is significantly more important.

It's not hard to understand. Sean Payton and Drew Brees turned this franchise into a winner with a winning culture and a winning attitude with winning play and winning strategy.

After their departure, we have a GM who thought it was mostly him, who made an awful decision hiring a losing head coach, who installed a losing culture, with losing play and losing strategy, and the GM was so incredibly arrogant he believed they were doing the right thing.

And here we are.

Pretty much the way I see it….that clown show PC after last season supports the ML ego notion for sure…..

Chiefs have had major injuries. Lions have been ravaged more than us to key players. Every team deals with injuries.
The Saints are supposed to be competitive with on offense Carr, Kamara,Olave, Shaheed, Means, MVS and McCoy out and on defense Lattimore is gone and Adebo is out. Sounds like a formula for success.

Guys who make it to the NFL have talent. Players who make the team, are to be relied upon, if their number is called. Do i expect backups to be great? Nope. Do I expect them to be competitive? Yes I do.
Our players just want to go to Cancun. It is what it is.

So… depth charts don’t matter? Every single player at a given position is of exact equal talent?

What is … this expectation? Does that seem realistic?

If the owner hadn’t stepped in we’d be sitting on a higher draft pick making a reset that much easier 🙄😒
No we wouldn't, if there is one thing DA can do is he can get a late win streak against teams that throw in the towel to make Loomis think he doesn't need to fire him.

We had our days in the sun, they were great (2006-2020). Unfortunately, the organization didn’t plan well - should have been ongoing while we were enjoying the best days of the franchise. They should have had Drew’s replacement learning under Drew, not ignoring red flags during scouting for draft picks, and handling contracts and finances accordingly. I’ll stop there; hopefully, there are better days ahead.

Merry Christmas to you all.

I think if Sean could re-live the 2017 draft, he'd draft Mahomes but then again, in the context of our franchise, organisation stability, who knows what kind of QB or playmaker Mahomes turns into here?

All I do know is that if Patrick Mahomes had ended up having 35-40% of same success he's had with Chiefs, Sean Payton wouldn't have had a "burn-out" and is still coaching at Airline Dr. If he says or claims otherwise, he's a forking liar.

I cannot argue.
