Didn't have this many "come to Jesus" moments under Payton (1 Viewer)

Also noticed Thomas is putting way to much pressure on himself and the players to get it together. While execution may be an issue, Kamara pointing out that he has to go to his coach and nudge him to choose plays that players are comfortable w/ suggest that Pete isn't doing a good job game-planning and likely making execution harder for players.

It falls at his feet but again, if I'm Allen I'm probably not making a switch on a short week.

I'll say why not, because he hasn't gotten the job done since he took over a team that was was already primed-up for a SB and that was 20 YEARS AGO. There's zero evidence that he is capable of breathing new life into any offense, it's just more classic & outdated WC stuff with no new twist...YAWN!

edit: I see that @Judge_Smails beat me to it.
There's proof that Carr was at his most productive w/ Gruden as a playcaller. They just had a BAD defense at their disposal.

Payton never came out post game and announced “ I told them in there “ . Backstabbing and throwing people under the bus is the first place the scared people run to when the pressure is on as management. Ceedy knew it and punked him right off . He’s not a head coach middling is his ceiling and the bottom falling out is his floor.
There won’t be a debate after much longer . There’s already cracks starting to show with player behavior and soon the whole locker room will be lost.

Was it the ONE year when they were ranked 10th in points scored? That was, indeed their high point, but that doesn't change the fact that the years prior they were near the bottom of the league in scoring.

Our offense lacks ingenuity, imagination and Gruden will not bring any of those things to this offense.

The bus late on that. You make that decision in February. At this point, we just need a new playcaller to at least make our offense pedestrian.

Its easier to sell that to people when you go to the NFCCG in your first season. Not starting 4-9 on top of your 8-28 record from the last team you failed with.
Only bandwagon fans need to sold on rooting for a team, your the same type of person that creates those "eat crow" threads when you want back in when things are good.

I'm not ready to say Allen is the full problem just yet. The defense is making plays, they are better than last year at creating turnovers, and even when they get exposed they make quick corrections. 50% of the team is working fine and ST's has been no slouch.

Still, it's the HC's responsibility to make sure everything is rolling on ST's, defense, and offense and so it is somewhat his responsiblity.

Carr spoke about details, a lot and players are having to call players out more than we've done so in the past. We can go back and forth on if Pete is bad as a play-caller and it has warrant but what seems to be more obvious than that is, the players don't respect him enough to not Fork* up on a down to down basis. There was a fear factor under Payton but more than that he was constantly teaching. During practices he'd harp about spacing among other things. Those are things that Pete cannot duplicate as a coach. He doesn't appear to be a stickler for those things, and unfortunately there's too much weight being put on the locker-room to correct those issues.

Allen has to get someone in and I don't think promoting from within is going to do it. It must be a veteran coach that commands respect, it's got to be Gruden.

Bonus points if you keep Pete on the staff. No he's not a play-caller by trade, but he didn't last that long under Payton without having value...it's just the current role doesn't fit him.
Meanwhile at the Denver ranch, there's news that SP could be bringing in Rex Ryan. At least hes proactive about his coaching issues, while we're trying to force stuttering John to get his stuff together

The more Gruden was in the booth, the more his "legend" grew... Once he was actually back on the sidelines, he didn't really do that great. I'll pass on Gruden.
not true, the Raiders were headed to the playoffs, until someone hacked his email.

DA is now 18-41 as a head coach......but on the bright side, this is the first time he's been 0.500 or better going into week 7 in his five years as head coach.
That’s a “bright side”???? So dude is lucky to be average going into week 7🤣🤣🤣

I saw someone on Twitter suggest that Pete should get the headset one last time this week since it’s a Thursday game, then hand it to Ronald Curry going forward to see if that opens some things up in the offense. If Carr succeeds, then the team knows where the problem is. Allen can then promote Curry and figure out a different QBs coach. If it doesn’t, assess things more thoroughly in the offseason and either clean house of the offensive coaches or keep whoever passes the assessment. But either way, it’s evident the game is passing Carmichael by.

For the most part, I think DA is holding up his end of the bargain. The defense is solid and I think the players were bought in to start. This next decision will make or break him imo. How long is he going to allow an offense that can't score 20 to keep going out on the field?

I don't want DA involved in the offense at all. It's the same problem Payton had on the defensive side. It's up to him as a head coach to get an OC he trusts and can do the job. If he can't make it work then I will go with him being a great defense coach, who can lead men, but can't manage a team as a HC.

I'm willing to be patient to make sure they make the right decision. Finishing this year like we started is too much. If they don't make a change during the season, it needs to be day 1 of the offseason and the plan has already been laid out.
