I vote experienced vet. After the shambles that Garrett Hartley left me in on a regular basis, I need some stability in my kicker..lol

I voted Dimke. He has a live leg, is pretty accurate and reliable, and will get better.

Graham is past his prime, and has been cut by several teams. There must be a reason.

If they're tied my vote goes Graham. I'd literally be spraying **** all over the place if the NFCCG came to a game ending field goal with Dimke trotting out there

I am so, so, so tired of the kicking carousel. I want Dimke to win the spot and for us to never need another kicker for the next 10 to 12 seasons.

Give me the younger stronger leg. I just hope he sticks around for more than a couple of seasons and the Saints have to look for yet ANOTHER kicker. :jpshakehead:

I was doing research on kickers for FF draft. Graham has one of the lowest career FG %'s of any starting kicker in the NFL, around 86%. The top 5-6 kickers all average between 92% and 95%. Surprisingly, most of these kickers kick outdoors.

As we remember from 2009, clutch FGs are essential to get to the SB. I voted for Dimke, but putting a rook under the type of pressure he will face as the Saints kicker is a real gamble. I suspect that unless Graham just crashes, SP will go with the proven commodity.

Where are you getting those numbers from? These are all time percentages:

You were looking at 1 year numbers, not career. The highest is career percentage is 86.4% (minimum number of kicks attempted of course)

For instance last season Matt Prater lead the NFL with at % of 96.2%, but for his career he is 81.6%

This seems like one of those times people think the grass is greener on the other side. Dimke is completely unknown. Graham doesn't look like a bright spot but we literally have no idea how dimke will play

Ouch...Dimke 1/3 today...Graham 3/4 including a 55 yarder. I may need to change my vote. There are only 32 NFL place kicker jobs in the world. You would think we could find someone who is automatic inside of 50.

Today was Dimke's worst day of camp so far.

Not a good sign for a young kicker trying to win a job from a vet not to make the 50+ kick but Graham did.

Co-signed. I've been waiting for that with Taylor Melhaff, then Hartley. I don't really care who it is at this point as long as it's not an end-of-career journeyman.

I think they should let one kicker have all kicking duties on Friday and the other the following week.

Not sure where you got your stats, but I just went to ESPN Stats for 2013 and actually the number of Kickers who kick 92% or above was almost 2 times what I said for career. It was 11 last year that average 91.7% or more. 91.7 rounds out to 92.

Then again, ESPN is suspect, so if the stats you found are actually more accurate than these, my point is NULL! We all want the same thing Brother - a MONEY FG kicker for the Who Dats!
