I think they should let one kicker have all kicking duties on Friday and the other the following week.

Yeah it's rough just look at last game. There was only 2 FGs attempted by us. Hard to have a competition when a kicker is getting 1 attempt.

Not sure where you got your stats, but I just went to ESPN Stats for 2013 and actually the number of Kickers who kick 92% or above was almost 2 times what I said for career. It was 11 last year that average 91.7% or more. 91.7 rounds out to 92.

2013 NFL Player Kicking Stats - National Football League - ESPN

You said

Graham has one of the lowest career FG %'s of any starting kicker in the NFL, around 86%. The top 5-6 kickers all average between 92% and 95%.

That is just wrong. The highest career fg% in history is 86.4% by Mike V. So how can the top 5-6 starting kickers in the NFL have a career average between 92% and 95%?

Shane Graham is actually 7th on the all time list, although I'll admit that those numbers can be misleading get at times. He certainly isn't as bad as you were somehow trying to twist it. Like I said before the best kicker from last season has a career fg% worst than Graham.

The easiest choice would be Graham at this point because so much of having a good Kicker is not just his Leg Power/Accuracy its his psyche in big moments...and that's something Demke hasn't put on display yet.

While Graham has dating back to last season.

If I were coach while I was resting Graham I'd hope that a game winning situation came up in one of these preseason games and see how he fairs with a game on his shoulders. Only then would I be willing to move on from Graham completely.

We must remember that thought Demke and Graham have up to this point missed 2FG's a piece I believe, Demke's miss notably came in a game winning practice situation(will posts link later if I can find article)

So yeah while I'd prefer the younger leg of Demke's (nice to he his kicks go right to the middle rather than hooking absurdly) at this point Grahams psyche and Demke being a rather unknown in similar situations Graham gives the upper hand IMHO

I get your theory, but the memory of Olindo Mare counters that thinking. I thought the guy was going to be a steal and he stunk it up for us after a great career in Miami. Then he went to Seattle and rediscovered his mojo.

In today's practice there was a noticeable difference between Graham and Dimke's leg strength. The kicks were booming off Graham's foot while Dimke's looked less explosive and was wide left on two of the kicks. Graham's kicks were ending up about 10 yards farther up the hill as well.

I don't know if Dimke is the answer, but I'm pretty sure Graham will not give us confidence.
