Disappointed in season ticket holders (3 Viewers)

It was sad to watch all the eagles fans in the stands. Even when the Saints had the ball they were making a lot of noise. It sounded like when the Rams play at home with all the visiting fans. I was at the Carolina game and even in the fourth quarter of a blowout it was louder than today.
I have to laugh when I see a post about being disappointed in season ticket holders. We can’t make every game. Buy tickets and go to every game if you want to change things. And keep in mind that if the dome isn’t sold out, the game is blacked out locally. Thank your season ticket holders for that.

I don't know about the STH but the Saints were given and created so many opportunities to win that game despite how many people sold their tickets.

Agree with your overall post, but just wanted to point out that blackout rules were abolished many years ago.

But you’re correct, the anomaly here isn’t the number of tickets being sold; it’s the fact that Saints fans aren’t the ones interested in buying.

This is my thought as well. If you can't afford the tickets don't buy them.

What if buying them is how they can afford them? I.E., buy a 10 game package, sell the 2 most profitable gains, now have the 8 remaining games they can afford, and mostly paid for?

Too many people on this thread selfishly telling people how they should handle their money, what they are allowed to spend, or how they must handle their own personal assets and possessions, all during fairly harsh economic/inflationary times, as if every person’s situation is like yours.

If people don’t like Eagles fans buying resale tickets, how about you guys buy them? The resale tickets will always be available…it’s up to Saints fans to be the ones that snatch them up when most of the best, most game-impactful seats get sold…in July. Sadly though, our fan base didn’t have as much interest in the team and aren’t buying like they used to.

In those very rare occasions that I don't make a game I have friends who can't afford begging for them. Otherwise I eat them

I DID put them out for sale during the pre-season so maybe a bit untrue about that

I knew this was going to happen when the panthers game resale prices were almost at the level of a preseason game. Eagles fans always travel well but this is by far the most I’ve seen. I had to remind some of them that last time they were here in the regular season they abandoned their team at halftime.

I hate it. It impacts our home field advantage when we need a game winning drive and our offense has to deal with crowd noise at home.

It’s a product of today’s NFL. Popularity at all time highs, access to tickets at all time highs.

There are some historical franchises with some of the best, most loyal fanbases in the world that have to deal with hostile takeovers from time to time. Hell, Saints fans do it to other teams from time to time as well.

I bet it doesn’t happen in Philly.

When there are too many fans of visiting teams, it does more than affect marginally the home team's chances of winning--it affects the game enjoyment of those Saints fans who attend.

The NFL created this system because it allows the teams to charge more for tickets than they otherwise could. Teams with a national fan base like Pittsburgh, Dallas, San Francisco, and the Raiders and teams with a huge home base like Chicago and Philadelphia will always have in the stands a number of their fans.

My position on this issue has changed. I believe that those season-ticket holders who routinely sell their tickets should lose the following year the right to but season tickets. They are not fans. They are ticket brokers. And the teams could make exceptions each year for those fans who have a legitimate reason why they cannot attend home games and have to sell their tickets. As far as those season-ticket holders who occasionally sell their game tickets, I am not sure there is much that can be done.

One last comment. I see posts where fans lament that a family of four can no longer afford to attend many games. A family of four also cannot afford to attend many Broadway plays. These games are an expensive treat. And I get that the game-day experience can be expensive. A suggestion: Cut back on what you buy at the Superdome. The cost of a beer or most food items has gotten crazy. When I go, I may have two beers. That's it. Do yourself a favor and have a good breakfast and then treat yourself to a nice meal after the game.

Fair…but that’s probably because people don’t want to get jumped outside of the stadium. 😂

EDIT: Take a look at the Eagles next home game's ticket listings on StubHub and Ticket Exchange. If Browns fans WANTED to take over the lower bowl and make their presence known, they could; I'd imagine there were many more tickets available a month or two ago as well...

I agree that the rights should be lost, but I know it won't happen. When we were winning, the comments from the coaching staff and players were about how loud and passionate we are as fans. In fact that's the one thing we could hang out hat on. Seeing what happened yesterday (and some last season) is an embarrassment to the city and to the team.

Those who sold yesterday's tickets just to make a profit are not fans at all, and do not represent the truth fans of this team.
As the MDM states...everyone has a price.

it’s going to take a lot more than 1,600 to take over. Cheapest one being a $251 SRO ticket.
