DJ Hall to have private workout w/ Saints (1 Viewer)

As a life long Bama fan I for one am glad Hall's time at the Capstone is over.Watching the second half of the season was painful. He seemed hesitant to cross the middle a lot and was jammed easily by good db's.Could he be a good Pro?Maybe. But I'd rather it was with some other team, not the Saints.
He was hot and cold, but as mentioned above,Wilson is not very astute at finding the whole field and locked in on Hall too much.Much to the delight of opposing defensive coach's.
As for all records Wilson and Hall were setting, one must remember ALABAMA was a Running team until the oughts.
Namath,Stabler,Starr,Sloan,Todd,Barker et al never set any passing records because it was 70% run in the guilded ages.Hudson held a lot of the records from the 30's that are being broken today.
As always IMHO.

I agree with the records but had to make the point that he's been putting up some pretty awesome numbers the past few years. But how could you say you're glad DJ's time at Bama is done? I loved watching DJ make catch after catch after catch, and of course will never forget his dirty work against the Vols the past 3 years. He comes to play and he's what's becoming more and more rare and that's a pure football player, not a track athlete who decided to put on some pads one day.

This is all very true. Hall could be a good to very-good WR in the NFL. That said, he did have some additude problems and dissappeared in many a game. When he had a good attidtude, he was a top receiver in the SEC.

If there's any perceived "bad attitude" it's just him being a naturally low-key person. He's not the one jawing off, getting teammates jacked, or running down the sideline trying to get the fans up. He keeps to himself and plays his role and blends in (in the locker room not on the field). His overall attitude isn't something that would pop out to a scout and make him say wow that's we like to see, but it also shouldn't be something that should turn off a scout.

Think Deuce McAllister - actually could come off as kind of a jerk if you meet him, but as we know he's a great guy just not an overly outgoing person. Not a vocal leader but still arguably the leader of the team.

I'll also be happy when Wilson's time is up.But thats just my opinion.Hall made some great catches in his career,I'll give him that.
Yet I still want to move past the Franchonie,Price, Shula, era and thier players.

I live in Destin and DJ went to high school in Fort Walton (4 min away). I followed him then and then to Bama, which is my team in college. He played there with his FWB teammate Glen Coffey. Coffey was more the bad boy in high school, but maybe he rubbed of on DJ in college. None of us really knows. He seems like a good kid, and then has issues in college when he should be on his best behavior. He had no issues his first two years and then when he should be looking to make a good impression for the NFL scouts, he screws up a few times. I wish him the absolute best, but I think the Saints have way more pressing issues for the 3rd or 4th round.

Who knows man, JPW has another whole season ahead of him and you can't deny that he's shown plenty of flashes (feels like I'm watching Aaron Brooks almost). Remember the name Jason Campbell made Auburn fans sick before his senior year, then he blew up and went first round.

That's a great point. Aubbies hated that guy and then somehow he has a senior year for the ages.

Hall isn't a speedster. He runs a 4.59. David Patten runs faster than that.
