This loss isn’t on Winston. Carr went down in a bad way. It sucked the wind out of everyone’s sails. The defense got worn down because the offense continues to be discombobulated and unable to do Jack no matter who is at QB. The coaches didn’t calm the team down and just prayed to squeak out a win by playing it safe. Didn’t happen. Game was lost as soon as Carr went out. I knew Grupe was going to miss. The momentum had shifted too hard to GB. Plus we left over a minute on the clock, so if he even hit it GB would get it bsck and Love would just chuck it until he got a PI and they’d kick the game winner.
Tough loss but got to hope Carr isn’t seriously hurt and they can somehow fix the offensive line. Call an exorcist or something.
Blaming the people not touching the ball when they were one miss block from being 3-0 is low hanging fruit. Blaming one player is also low hanging fruit. What actually happened was two things, one, they knocked out our QB with plenty enough time left in the game to come back. GB immediately got confident and belief that they could win. The exact opposite happened with us, the electricity left the building and the team maybe including those who dont touch the ball, lost hope and confidence. Our let down D couldn’t withstand a surging GB Team. Think of it like this, it’s the Super Bowl in the 1980’s, The Montana led 49ers are shutting out the NE pats. Starting the third quarter, Montana gets injured and Steve Walsh comes in. The pats are like, yea we can beat this team without Montana, and it easily happens. Thats what happened today. But Carr isnt Joe Montana and JW is better than Steve Walsh, but the comparison is the same. Kc without Mahomes is easily beaten.Look objectively at all 3 games. Winning blurred the "play to not lose" reality of 2 of those games. Today's loss made that reality very clear.
- DA is the head of this team.
- He has no killer instinct.
- He plays to not lose.
- That mentality has infected this entire team.
I'll continue to say it. With DA as HC, what you've seen is all you'll ever get. Period.
Did Carr return the kick for a TD?Jameis was not the primary reason we lost this game. Probably not the secondary reason.
Primary was playcalling. Yes, the Oline sucked. But Carr scored 17 points with the same oline that Winston did jack sheet with.
Technically car only scored seven special teams got 10Jameis was not the primary reason we lost this game. Probably not the secondary reason.

Yes, but Carr had nothing to do with the TD scored by special teams, and you posted Derek Carr as starting QB: 17 points, which implies Derek Carr had a hand in all of the 17 points scored, which he didn't.Yep.
When Shaheed returned that punt, was Carr not the starting QB?
11 plays for 35 yards on 3 offensive series while stopping the clock for the other team with bad offensive plays being called is not "holding on to a lead".Because they were trying to sit on a lead with one of best defenses in league. Game was called conservatively until we trailed. What happens then? Do you all even know football?

Implications are irrelevant. Was he the starting QB at the time?
No they aren't. But be that way. If you think QB's have anything to do with 80 yard punt returns for TD's, so be it.
While we didn’t lose bc of Jameis for sure, he certainly didn’t help us. Threw 2-3 balls that could have been easy picks. Did have a beautiful throw up the sideline.1. Pete can’t call a game to save his life anymore. He didn’t open up the playbook until he absolutely had to , putting way too much strain on our defense and opening the door for the packers to comeback.
2. Our Offensive lineman are among the leagues worst collection of any group in the NFL.
3. Derek Carr got himself hurt holding onto the ball. He doesn’t have all day and unfortunately it seems to be effective , he needs it.
4. Jameis contrary to popular opinion started to COOK. Clutch throw after clutch throw taking us down the field for what should’ve been the game winning FG.
I’m on the record saying if Carr is going to perform this way , we are better off betting on Jameis Winston’s upside with these receivers.
What I did notice … As soon as Jameis comes in the game … A wide open Michael Thomas appears .
Again Jameis won us that game , Gruppe lost it shortly thereafter.
Do not be surprised if Jameis has to takeover for Carr , and doesn’t look back. If Geno Smith can have a resurgence, then Jameis can certainly have one with this offensive group.
