Drafting a corner (1 Viewer)

Just out of curiosity, what CBs do you think will be around in the 2nd and 3rd?

Is the talent level drop of from DT, CB, and OLB similar from rounds 1-3?

depends, lbs are deep from round 2-4, corners also but dt i think has the biggest drop off in talent in these rounds. now talent wise drc and jenkins are the only guys with a high first round grade that i think have shutdown/playmaker ability potential. in the 2-4 range id say cason, lee, c.jackson. as far as dts after trevor laws the dts leave much to be desired, linebackers are by far the most deep id rather go cb, dt, then olb i think i we'd get great value in that order

I agree with your assessment. I would rather go Ellis or Dorsey with our 1st, if they are not there then I would draft just like you (I'm not sold on DRC, though). I'm hoping we get Gold, Johnson, Bailey but I doubt we do.

Now, since we draft BPA, the odds of this happening are slim to none.

Wesley Woodyard for Ky in the 3rd. He is going to be a good WLB, just hope we take him

actually the whole draft is a crapshoot and just as many linemen are busts as corners. with that in mind most of the top corners in the leauge are former first round picks. you can find good d-line guys late, esp if you only want them to passrush. dline guys that are one dimensional pass rushers tend to slide in drafts because of their lack of versatility. but good cover corners rarely slide in drafts unless they have questionable speed.

theres no way jake long or chris long make it to us a ten but if they do theres no way we pass on them.

the only guys i see falling to us at ten is dorsey/ellis because i dont think two 4/3 dts will get taken in the top 9. im still not sure if drc/mckelvin or jenkins will be there at 10 i could see them getting selected ahead of us by balt and NE but thats the beauty of the draft you never know!

ps i wouldnt get too excited about picking any one player because this staff sure can throw some curve balls in the draft. i wouldnt be surprised if we picked jake styles form alcorn st. that kid is a beast.lol:hihi:

Most Corners in the NFL may be 1st round picks but picking the right one, is always the crapshoot..... I believe that picking a corner over Ellis or Dorsey is a bigger crapshoot.....

at no point have i ever said that we should pick a corner over ellis or dorsey. i really want either guy! but we have almost no realistic shot at them. and even tho they are both rather "safe" picks they could both easily be busts in the nfl and thats y said that the entire draft is a crapshoot.
