Lattimore isn't going to be 100%. And honestly unless he is close to it, he should not play.My Apologies, I accidentally left out the elephant in the room when it comes to this game. I’ve been so concerned about us having to double C Lamb that I forgot about Lattimore. (His injury made me forget about him) If Lattimore is near 100% healthy, he will straight up lock down CLamb. He’s our legit shutdown CB. The more im looking at this game, the more im liking our chances. I still think we need to get over the hump in beating a high quality opponent. But it will be much easier with Lattimore at 100% and the oportunistic 32 (TM ) constantly jonesing to make an impact.
If necessary put Adebo with safety coverage over Lamb on the outside and bracket coverage with Taylor when Lamb moves to the slot. We drafted Kool-Aid specifically because Lattimore cannot stay healthy. Put him out on the other side on Cooks on a island and ask the kid to keep Cooks in front of him. Then generate enough up front pressure so that Dak doesn't have time to set up the explosives that will kill us.
There are 15 games after this. We will need Lattimore for the season. There will always be a #1 receiver on each and every team. If the Saints do nothing else but play Lattimore in division games so he can take on London and Evans and shut them down, that would be better than trotting him out when he's not ready, injure himself worse and then be out for weeks like last year.
Lattimore is not healthy. He is not 100%. So, given that, what do you want to do?
