on the Mark Scherelth pod cast, he said that D Watson had more incompletions of more than 5 yards over the receivers head than completions. Thats similar to what we saw last weekend. Total ineptness at Qb. This game will come down to which defense can force Dak or DC4 into being inept. That old man can still call a good defense though...haha.
This is where I begin to see who we really are, especially with our O-line going against that front. Sunday was so freaking awesome but I said that I'm giving it 6 games because we face some hitters. I think it will be a tight game because I just looked at a video of the Cowboy's defense and I don't know if it is just the Browns suck or what, but they made them look foolish. I think we can pull it out if we can get to Dak because I'm not sold on their run game this season. I'm thinking 23-17, with us getting the win.
I’m calling this game close with the edge to Dallas only because there are too many, “we haven’t seen it yets” with the Saints. We haven’t beaten a quality upper tier team yet. We do have corroborating evidence, such as we should’ve beaten Green Bay, a team that beat Dallas. Is that enough? There a difference between a team that plays good enough to “almost” win. And the team that actually wins. We have been swimming in the “we’re close “ end of the pool for awhile now. However, we did look like a polished war machine last week that has taken another step. Now can we take the next step, and beat a quality opponent at their home? We havent seen it yet. Are we going to get to their stadium and be like the bad news bears kid, when he stares around at the Astrodome, then he falls down dizzy? Is that going to be us? Lol Jk. Do I believe we can win? You damn right. We have as good of pieces as they have. I like our Qb better. They have better WRs.. we have better RBs. We have better TEs including Taysom. Their D line slightly better, we have better LB and CB’s. On paper we’re slightly better. They are at home, edge Dallas. We are young as an offensive group. Edge to Dallas. Overall slight edge to Dallas until we prove we can and will beat an upper tier team. It would be irresponsible to bet the oppositeYall are weird. Yall kept saying that if we had better play calling, better Oline play, that we would be better. We have a taste of what we can do and hopefully our players build on that confidence/momentum. Yall are scared of a Cowboys team that won’t be as good as they were last year? Make it make sense. I’m not scared. Calling it like I said earlier in the thread……we win this week.
Who Dat!!!
Yea, he’s not side stepping Alonte Taylor. Just the threat of AT at the line, will cause concern for DallasOne huge key to beating the Cowboys is to punch Dak Prescott in the mouth a few times and hit him constantly.
He will get the jitters and throw up some ducks if that happens. He also has a tendency to fumble at times.
Defense can win this game for us.
Does anybody have a take on how the Dallas secondary matches up with our receivers?
Diggs and Bland are both great corners that will be a tough matchup for our receivers.Lets be honest, pretty well. They probably have a top 3 defense for a reason. It's not just parsons they have a mean secondary. A healthy Diggs and Maliek should be pretty good at shutting down most WR1 and deep threats in the league.
Will Parsons go against our LT or RT, or both?I think the line plus Parsons boosts the talent on the backend of the field.
Not a bad analysis from a Dallas perspective.Looking at their fan board, this take seems to be the general consensus out here in Cowboys land:
The Saints have some players, but I don't love their team at all. I didn't watch any of their game yesterday, the score looked impressive, but it was also to the worst team in the league so I wont put much into it either way. Coming into the year I thought Cleveland was a dangerous 1st game, but NO would be a pretty safe game for the Cowboys.
My thoughts are the Cowboys should control the trenches on both sides of the ball. Their DT group is pretty weak and the Cowboys are likely able to get those 4 yard Zeke runs all day long on 1st down. Carr is probably underappreciated as a QB, but still far from elite.
Yesterday against Carolina they had a DB with 3 sacks. That tells me they needed to bring extra guys often to get pressure, and while they got there Dak is known to be very good against the blitz and is going to pick it up better than it seems Bryce Young did yesterday.
Across the board this just feel like a mismatch in the Cowboys favor.
On offense they have Kamara and Olave. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they moved Olave around quite a bit and tried to get him matched up on Carson and Brown often. Kamara is going to be used a lot for screens/draws to try and slow down the pass rush. For these reasons I can see some chunk gains for the Saints but I dont see a ton of consistent sustainable yards unless the Cowboys just dont show up.
Defensively they have a nice secondary and that is probably the one area the Saints may have an advantage. They are one of the few teams in the league who might have the ability to double Lamb all game and still have the depth to match up with the rest of the Cowboys receivers, especially assuming Ferg is out.
Their pass rush on paper is solid with Cam Jordan, Chase Young, and Granderson who is probably underappreciated around the league, but I think all of those guys are in the category of good not great.
Both teams probably go into this game looking at how they can run the football. In the end Ill say the Cowboys win by 14.
They move him around a lot. Depends on how we line up.Will Parsons go against our LT or RT, or both?
Doesn't realllly work like that under Kubiak. That is old school thinking. Parsons will switch sides but watch the 49ers game. Jets have some good edge rushers. The play calling will be what stops Parsons not any individual tackle. So don't stress the Penning matchup as much. Will Parsons go against our LT or RT, or both?
Isn't Lattimore on the DNP list?I'm very happy to see Lattimore is healthy, at least from what I saw recently....makes me feel better about this game.....
While I typically don't think game 2s are critical to the season, this one feels a bit different....it would be nice to break the spell of not beating good teams.....we will see what happens....
