Come over to the Cowboy forums and you'll get convo at least . . . especially if you show some football acumen. There's some whiners and unrealistic fans over there but some really knowledgeable football folks (ex players and coaches).

I've read a bunch on here football wise but no direct questions/responses to any of my posts except someone throwin shade at Dak (which I basically agreed he's not your post season QB guy ... he just hasn't shown up.) But he was really good in 2023 regular season.

I can trash talk but the older I get the less it appeals to me. (I did throw a little yo way ... Madea )!

I am really curious as to what my team has, who they are, and this coming game in general. Only reason I came over to this site. I go to a lot of different team message boards way before the games to get a feel for that week's opponent.

Never hated the Saints, I love La. especially south of I-10/12. Used to shrimp SW La. and loved the folks (enough so that wife #1 fam was from the Lafayette area . . . danged Broussards).

Y'all have a good game. No shade to anyone. This is a nice message board.

I truly think that watsons past caught up with him. Seriously, If youre him how could you ever be totally relaxed knowing at anytime a lawsuit can pop up. And that last one, if you read the article, was disturbing to say the least. But regardless of that, I’ve always said that he’s a dome QB and not what the coaches are trying to make him be in Clev. I’m glad we dodged a bullet, but he would’ve had way more success in Nola. (Assuming he could thrive in chaos). It’s easier to thrive in chaos if you’re winning.

Yup, before all that stuff came out he was my fantasy choice as Drew's replacement.....he had a few really good years with the Texans....I thought he was one of the best young QB's and would be a HOFer.....he's dropped off a cliff performance wise, like he has totally lost his feel for the game....

I believe that it is closer to the Russ effect. They were in offenses that they were successful in and now they are in a new offensive scheme and everything about their play is just horrible. It's the "does success equal skill" question.

I think the Saints can win a violent, physical game or Dallas sadly just crushes us. I just think it is too early for the Saints offense to have gelled enough to be able to get into track meets.

That said, if I am wrong and the Saints crush Dallas, being wrong will have never felt so right.

I look at it as a defensive struggle kinda game. Whichever defense can exert its will on their opponent will win. I don’t think anyone really gives the Saints D enough credit for being elite. A turnover or two and giving the offense short fields could be the recipe to win. Grupe coming out hot is encouraging in a game like this. Points maybe at a premium.

I really really underestimated the offense. They’re just so dominant I can’t even articulate it. The only thing that stops them is when they’re up by 3 TDs in the 4th and start coasting. It’s amazing to watch

All I know is that the Cowboys always lose to the 49ers and got their stuff pushed in against the Packers in the playoffs... And the Saints run that style offense. So I'm thinking the Cowboys won't be able to stop the Saints run game and will struggle playing from behind against the Saints elite DBs

I'm a Cowboy fan and will try to shoot straight with y'all.
I see some Saint fans here that are like me . . . I don't know a whole lot about my opponent this week (although there's a lot of Saints fans here in SE Tx, Houston and DFW thanks to Katrina).

First off, a page back someone mentioned All-Pro CB DaRon Bland. He's on week 2 of being out for 6 weeks with a broken bone in his foot. He's replaced by a rookie, Caelen Carson, who looks like a dawg but is still a rookie (2nd game) and is susceptible to the double move. Dallas has a great DB coach.

Dallas started 5 players that were playing their first NFL game last week against the Browns. Carson was one. LT Guyton went against Myles Garrett most of the game and gave up one sack but didn't grade well (PFF) but acceptable results. Center Cooper Beebe graded well and will be a great O-lineman (another dawg). Also his first ever game as a center. LB DeMarvion Overshown (missed all of 2023 - ACL) also started his 1st NFL game and tied with with vet Eric Kendricks (LB Minn.) for most tackles and also had one sack and has blazing speed.
So I have no idea how these teams will matchup. Dallas DL is avg. up the middle, really good LE and rookie RE (Marshawn Kneeland) who played a solid game against the Browns. LB's were really good against Cleveland and the DB's weren't challenged. Dallas has strong safety play with experience back there and hitters ... good depth too.
My take on Dallas D ... DB's will be susceptible to double moves, hard to get wide on running plays, should be able to run inside on them moderately. The Shanahan style weakness should be controlled now that Dan Quinn is gone with his weak azzed schemes.
On offense I see CeeDee Lamb as not up to speed since he held out ALL of camp and PS. It showed against Cleveland (targeted 10 / caught 5). Backup TE is not a starter because, well, he is backup talent . . . Dallas will miss Jake Ferguson. Brandin Cooks caught a lot of shade here but I see him as a plus. Don't sleep on #3 receiver Jalen Brooks. Dallas OL will be a strength by mid-season but they can be moved now ... I see Dak having to move the pocket some and do short and intermediate passing.. (Heard Lattimore may be out but I doubt it). Dallas averaged 4 YPC against a really good front 7 in week 1. Don't see them doing much better than that this week tho.
A quick rundown of Dallas' game against Cleveland: Deshaun Watson sucks. Cleveland started 2 backups on the OL and it showed ... Watson was sacked 6 times and pressured 25 times on 56 attempts. Cleveland had something like 14 yards total offense in the 1st half (1 first down). Dallas went up 24 points early in the 2nd half and went plain jane vanilla offense and defense for most of the 2nd half. The game was never close. Only Dallas 4th win on grass in their last 12 games. Cleveland was a 2.5pt favorite. Cleveland had the #1 defense in 2023 and the DC and talent was essentially the same Dallas had 275 ttl yards. Cleveland went up early 3-0 and Dallas scored the next 27 points.

My take on Dallas . I have no freakin idea what to expect from NO but at least y'all have a scouting report. (I've had some health issues and not been able to do my homework on opponents this year).
By history of the last 10 games (which means nothing) these 2 teams generally play close games and for some reason there's no love lost between them.

I agree 100%. Add to it the defensive minded, and long losing culture, (probably quickly over negative ) and the field itself, doesn’t fit Watson.

While the Browns supposedly have a top-10 offense, they have an offensive coach from the Kubiak tree. Every QB who has played in that offense had some level of success except Watson. He would do better in one of those college style offenses giving up 3 1 round picks AND that contract for that marginal pay will probably go down as one of the worst in NFL history. At least them and not us...lol

On another note, I'm so glad that we don't have this problem this season so far (LOL), but QB play is SO BAD across the league. I know QB play has sucked in college for a long time but dang...lol

You know me I’ve always been a believer in Carr. But I’ll be fair, and won’t say I told anybody so, but what im seeing in this new system, is limiting Carrs reps is the key to unlocking him. He only attempted 17 passes. (12/17 for 250). You saw late in the game he kinda got bored and threw a pick. But overall he’s good in this system. Apparently some QBs are better than others in this system. Watson likes to improvise using his quickness in the pocket. But you aren’t being quick in this grassy sand.
