Blank wanted PenixI think he probably gets one year to make it work with Penix. A year from now if we’re saying Penix was a bust I think they clean house.

No and we were hoping for better days when we signed our QB. I can’t, in good faith make fun of them, when our investment didn’t work out the way we planned as well.Sure, I’d prefer mediocre to bad.
But for that price tag, do you think the Falcons were hoping for mediocre when they signed him?
OK. But you began by not just refusing to celebrate their foolishness, but by justifying & defending the move. Which is fine, that's your opinion. But most people will disagree, and in a forum like this, they might be willing to say so. And just because the Saints are bad doesn't mean we can't acknowledge other teams that also are bad and making poor decisions. No and we were hoping for better days when we signed our QB. I can’t, in good faith make fun of them, when our investment didn’t work out the way we planned as well.
It’s not foolishness, when they covered their backside. Our division is straight trash and has been for years. All 4 teams made decisions, to try and be the team to beat. Panthers failed miserably. Falcons and ourselves, kinda went the same route. Bucs to a different/cheaper route. We, along with the Falcons have failed to meet expectations, and the Bucs have done the best out of all of the 4 teams. Why do I have to bask in someone else’s misery, when we are in misery of our own? In fact, our misery is worse right now. I don’t care if people disagree bc the vast majority will never defend our rival based on principle. I am a realist first. Weird how their foolishness still has them 2 games better than us and they are still in the Division hunt.OK. At least it wasn't that one with the miracle fluke play at the very end.The biggest thing that sucks about this is that Kirk Cousins only playoff win in his career is against the Saints
You don't tamper with a QB, lose drafts picks because of it, sign him to a huge deal and then draft his replacement. No matter how you slice it, they were wrong. If you draft your heir apparent, then you shouldn't have signed the other guy to a huge deal because you should want your heir to start before the contract is up with the other guy. Oh, and let's not forget they signed Kirk AFTER he tore his achilles. Not really. You can’t win in this league without a QB. Kirk is who he is. They decided to pay him and draft their heir to the throne. Not all investments are good ones, but they felt like they didn’t want to get behind the eight ball, in a division that can anyone’s for the foreseeable future. Just reality talking. I hate them and I hope everything blows up in their faces, but it’s reality
If that's true, then why was Fontenot having to explain to one of his higher ups WHY they drafted Penix when they should've already known?Arthur Blank is the one who requested a back up plan at QB and that’s why they drafted Penix.
Dude, it's the Falcons. The same team you placed an effigy in their stadium and yet you can't in good faith make fun of them? Since when did we need a logical reason to make fun of them? I'm starting to question you. I'm wondering if the effigy was a lie and that you're a double agent that they replaced with a life sized and alive effigy. No and we were hoping for better days when we signed our QB. I can’t, in good faith make fun of them, when our investment didn’t work out the way we planned as well.
A true Saints fan wouldn't question basking in the Falcons misery. Being in our own misery matters not in basking in others. It’s not foolishness, when they covered their backside.
