N/S Falcons Have Second Interview With Bill Belichick (Now Likely To Be Falcons HC) (1 Viewer)

Our offense was the opposite of a WCO, well technically, it is considered the real WCO while what we know today as the WCO is really the Mid West Offense (LOL). For majority of Brees' time here, we ran a Coryell system because that is the offense that he came from and Sneaky Pete was brought here because that was his background. CSP has is own version and Sneaky Pete has his. The key difference is nobody had to scream to for CSP to build the system to the QB strength.

PC's version of CSP's offense is the actual "we have _____ at home" meme brought to life.

It’s a derivative of the WCO. It’s not the opposite at all. It also includes some Coryell principles. And some stuff Payton/we came up with outside of it.

Soooo, Belichick in Atlanta will zag instead of zig, select a man cover CB in the first, possibly a DL, while acquiring former Patriots TB understudy Jimmy Garoppolo (or maybe Mac Jones).

Colour me terrified 😉

I'm getting the vibe that Bill has already detected "The **** show is strong with this one" during today's meeting, and both sides have subsequently moved on.

There's no way you keep a Bill Belichick hanging without an offer after a second interview with the owner, GM, and Team President, right?

Blank - “Well, Mr. Belichick, your resume looks very impressive. I just have one more question for you. What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?”

BB - “It would have to be this one Super Bowl. My team was down 28-3 late in the 3rd quarter. No way we could pull this one off. And, then….”

Blank - “Get out, Bill”

They are bringing Jim Harbaugh in for a 2nd interview.

Actually, you got it backwards. Our offense was Coryell with WCO elements. Our offense stretched the field vertically. Prime Brees had top down reads. At its best, our offense was eerily similar to the Greatest Show on Turf. Only difference was we had a RB by committee setup and they had the best RB of the late 90s early 2000s. (vertical route concepts & use of RB in the pass game). Payton kept a lot of WCO verbiage and so concepts, but at it's core, we ran a Coryell until Brees could no longer do so.

It’s not backwards or forwards. It’s an offense with both.

And that’s the entire point. You asked me where else this offense has succeeded. It has succeeded a bunch of places because it’s a combination of all of that. Payton took west coast and molded it with Coryell and his own version of all of it to focus on getting the ball to playmakers.

Using that same logic, we can talk about the system McDaniels runs (Erhardt-Perkins System) and see how others had success running it; Wisenhunt, Daboll, Bill O'Brien in Houston and others.

Of course. But that wasn’t the discussion we were having. It was specifically about McDaniels.

Which is why I thought you were talking about Sean Payton's working elsewhere, when you were just talking about the base of the system.
