Favorite Apple? (3 Viewers)

I love my Fujis. I have a tree in my yard and they stay crisp and hard for almost a month and a half. They start ripening in October here and I usually get the last few used in December for apple pies.

Gala is my favorite. Sweet of a red. Sour and crispy of a green. :9:

I do like a Braeburn, too.

+1 for Gala.

Someone working in the produce department recommended it to me years ago. I gave it a try and immediately had my new favorite apple.

Jonagold and Fuji for me. Jonagolds are hard to find, but they're worth tracking down. Whole Foods on Vets just got a shipment, if anyone in the neighborhood wants to try them.

Out of hand, a Fuji

In an Apple Pie, I like Alton Brown's suggested mix of: Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Braeburn and Golden Delicious

^ That makes a damn fine apple pie, btw. Just a clean, honest and non-syrupy pie.

When in season, Honeycrisp. Gala and Pink Lady as well.
