I had some honey crisp apples at the Pike's Place Market when I was in Seattle for the Saints-Seahawks game in October of 2007. Those were by far the best apples I have ever eaten. I found some at whole foods the following year, but they weren't nearly as good.

I like braeburn myself... if you ever find yourself in Washington state, stop at a fruit stand and try a few different varieties. Not sure why they taste better in WA than anywhere else?

There's nothing like Granny Smith slices, dipped in cream cheese topped with caramel and toffee bits...YUM.

Old time Bennom apple. Yellow in color, and slightly sour tasting but great for cooking.
