Disqualified from the Sprint race qualifier. I guess that means he starts 20th tomorrow.

Disqualified from yesterdays qualifying not the sprint. He will start last in the sprint and still has a 5 grid place engine penalty for the race tomorrow.

This race feels like the official “Welcome to the Age of Verstappen” race.

Lewis says not so fast.

That was quite a pass for the win. This championship might go down the wire - could be high drama!

Excellent footage here from lap 48. You can see why race control took no action, Max's wheel was fully left, he just lost grip - nothing intentional in forcing Lewis off track.

Merc wants new review. I think they’re saying the cockpit shot shows a deliberate arc into the turn that went wide and caused the understeer. I think Red Bull would argue that his line was dictated by the two racing and was not in the racing groove (dirty, marbles, etc).

Max gets a five spot grid penalty. Interesting up front today. Lights out in 30 minutes.

Just finished watching. Pretty anticlimactic tbh. The only real surprise is Bottas retiring from the race because his tire went down. I guess he was trying to make a 1 stop strategy work and ran too long. Didn't pay off for him.

Lights out in Saudi at 12:30 EST. Max had a pole run but locked up and bounced the right rear off the wall. Luckily the gear box survived.

This is a great primer on the car engineering. Of course it is changing next year but really well done:

Very cool. And I was wondering when the race would get underway. I'm used to seeing the DVR light on Sunday mornings, but it wasn't on this morning and wondered if I'd missed the race, lol.

The racing was better when the teams couldn't cry to the race director constantly.

Absolutely wild. I think Max definitely crossed the line with the games there - but if race control is going to tell a car to give a spot back, common sense dictates that you have to tell the trailing car first. Or else you risk that exact situation where the trailing car doesn’t know to expect the leading car to concede the spot.
