If they wanted a Green Flag finish, then they should've red flagged the race and given us a 4-5 lap sprint. F1 lets teams swap tires during a red, this would've given us a Lewis v Max on softs for 4 laps instead of this snuff film we saw on the final lap.O M G
It’s fitting that a bonkers season would finish absolutely bonkers. Congrats to Max and Red Bull you have to give them credit for finally putting in a real challenge.
I can definitely understand Mercedes complaint - and this is where sanctioning bodies get in trouble when lacking definitive rules. Nascar has worked very hard (and taken a lot of heat) for coming up with its overtime system to give a racing finish to the race fans who are there to see a race. There aren’t many areas where F1 could learn from Nascar but this is definitely one of them. I know there are issues with changing the scheduled distance but you have to make a choice of interests.
IMO it's the best of motorsport, probably second only to illegal street racing on Almonaster, but there's too much behind the scenes politicking (sp?) going on that overshadows the action on the track.I want to like F1...and they're good in a lot of ways, but these last few races made me want to pull my hair out. They really need to change or fix the rules.
Sure, they did what they were supposed to. The issue isn't with them, it's with the rules. I don't understand restarting a race with several lap cars between the leader and the second place car. Makes no sense. I just wanted to see a final 2 or 3 laps with the leaders duking it out. F1 needs to fix that.Mercedes has the right to file a grievance but the problem is that today, neither Max nor RedBull did anything controversial themselves, they took the opportunities presented to them by the way the race unfolded in front of them.

Then the previous week was a sheet show as well. Not a fan of the politicking. Just get out there and run a good race and not make up the rules as you go.
The real problem is that sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, leaving teams to guess on how F1 is going to officiate the race. Red flag restarts are sometimes rolling starts, sometimes lapped cars are waved through on cautions, everything they do is sometimesy giving teams the impression that they are manipulating the race to race official's liking.Sure, they did what they were supposed to.
