The U.S. Grand Prix will continue to be held in Austin until 2026 after the venue secured a new contract with Formula One.

Yeah, seems like Indycars are going to be the losers in all of that. I was an Indycar fan for a lot of years, but find myself being more drawn to F1 and Nascar these days.

I really like the direction of Nascar more than anything else. I feel like they're doing a great job broadening their appeal to a wider audience. F1 seems to be doing that as well.

I agree it has nothing to do with him but I kind of feel like FIA should ban Mazepin. He’s in F1 on his father’s Russian oligarch money and like it or not, his county is being shut out.

I think that's the correct approach. I get they might not have ties to Russia, but it has to be made clear that Putin, and by extension, Russia's actions aren't acceptable, and the fallout from being cut out and banned has to be directed at Putin.

I'm not sure how many other races it impacts but as to the F1 race, there's only one Russian driver and his dad is an oligarch close to Putin - and whose money is the only reason he's in that seat at Haas.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if he was the only one. I wonder if there are crew chiefs and pit crew who are Russian. Would they be subject to being banned too?

Yeah, it’s more than that. I understand they are just trying to make ends meet and field the team, but Mazepin MAYBE flashed a split second of goodness once all season. If I’m being generous.
