Fox Sports - Vilma lawsuit puts Goodell on the run.

Has the motion to dismiss been filed? I missed that report, if it has.

No. But it's coming.

I don't think Goodell has been served yet. At least, there's no indication of service in the electronic court record.

After he's served, he has 20 days to file responsive pleadings (which will be a motion to dismiss). Of course, he may get additional time from Vilma, it's common and considered a courtesy among counsel to not oppose a reasonable extension.

Decent article. They touch on the hypocrisy of the NFL but the thing that bothers me is the fact that they still believe we actually had a bounty program and were intentionally trying to injure others. Thats what i dont like about it. Its hard to find a perfect article :(

Stop looking for the "perfect article." There are still many unknowns so there is still a lot of room for speculation or interpretation. The author's opinion will creep into the work. Just be glad that counterpoints and accountability are starting to surface when, before, a minute few were daring to do so. TBH, we are of the opinion that there were no bounties, but we don't know for sure, either. We're just looking for some transparency and fairness and the media is finally starting to entertain the other side of the story.

Local rules also allow for an automatic extension of 21 days by ex parte motion unless Vilma files an objection into the record. I would be very surprised to see a motion to dismiss filed before July 1.

precisely... what's been nearly universally accepted as true is mostly something that is unacceptable... why must everyone write things as they appear? They should instead write what the faithful wish was true?

Yeah, that's probably a good estimate. Though it's possible that the commissioner may actually want to get it filed earlier. If you're Goodell, the sooner this goes away (if it's gonna go away) the better.

Man...the commenters on that article are WAAAAYYY behind in their information. I mean seriously - why bother commenting on an article that deals with a subject 2 months more advanced than your best understanding?

Did Vilma get the courtesy of a meet with Goodell to discuss his role or see evidence against him? If Goodell had done that, maybe things wouldnt be where they are now!

JV wants his rep and his job back! If the case is not dismissed, IMO, Vilma should go full throttle!

Lawyers, Please explain how "extensions" may benefit Vilma. Is he allowed to join the team? Are you saying Goodell is requesting more time because he has no evidence to disclose? Extension sounds bad if Vilmas at home waiting for a decision?
& Is good news for Vilma good for Payton also or no legal union relation?

I read somewhere that Vilma asked to meet with Goodell before the suspensions came down and Goodell refused.
