How good is a core of Olave, Shaheed, MVS, Pettis. I think they have potential. A lot falls on Olave returning from the latest concussion, staying healthy and avoiding concussions. Pair that with Juwan finally being fully healthy and having his best game there is some hope for the future. I wouldn’t overlook adding a WR in the draft if one of the top ones fell.

The WR talent in this draft is pretty good. Travis Hunter looks like one of the best WR prospects in years, followed by a significant drop off after. But it levels out for several rounds.

Just an example is right now Kyren Lacy from LSU and Tre Harris from Ole Miss are looked at as 3rd - 4th round picks. (I personally suspect they’ll end up in the 2nd, maybe 3rd depending on how senior bowl and combine shake out)

Of course it’s all going to change a lot over the next 5 months. But another though is you even have a decent receiver like Jack Bech from TCU likely to go undrafted as of now.

This draft seems incredibly deep at almost every position. If there was ever a draft to trade back and grab a couple extra picks, this looks like it.

Like you said, a lot is going to depend on Olave’s future. I don’t know if the Saints picked up Olave’s 5th year option, if not he’s only under contract for one more season.

I would love to see us get McMillian the big WR from Arizona but I don’t know if we will have that option if we win anymore games.

I’m a huge LSU fan, but Lacy hasn’t stepped up like many thought he would. Maybe if he’s there in the 3rd, but 4th sounds about right.

I would really like to see us get Mason Taylor or the TE from Penn St. They would be great outlets for our QB.

The 5th year option will be decision made after this season to lock him in for 2026.

Hopefully those extra picks from the Lattimore trade help us out. I'd be happy to throw 2 or 3 picks in the first 4 rounds at WR/TE. Olave is either done or nearly done. Shaheed is coming off surgery... Nothing about our our current WR room seems like a sure bet. The only logical way out of our Salary Cap situation is to roll with a rookie contract QB at some point. They'll be fine if they have weapons.

Whatever happens we need 2 more WRs. Reason being you can't count on Shaheed to be healthy consistently either. When he plays he balls out, but he's not durable. Where are they going to come from???? No freaking clue

I have a feeling that Olave is going to get traded to KC for 32, which would get us a 2nd first to use, but I don't know what prospects are out there. Had we not decided to start winning, maybe a Travis Hunter with our first first, but now we're going to be right back in that middle 10-15 area that usually nets us the 3rd best OL prospect out of Western Rhode Island U.

If Tre Harris is around in the second, we could do a lot worse. Somebody may roll the dice on him in the first. He has MT potential.

That range still might get us the top OT in Campbell since he's falling some during the season. That will probably all change during the draft season, but with LSU not being good and him regressing some, he's falling.

There are other WRs in the draft besides Hunter. We'll probably be out of range for Hunter and Tet, but for a big X, I also like Higgins out of Iowa St and Savion Williams out of TCU. There's others as well.

I’m not planning on Olave. But I want to re-sign MVS. If we can get a possession receiver in the draft or FA to add to Shaheed and MVS I think we’ll be good.

I see OLine and DLine as still being our biggest needs going into next year but WR could certainly be up there too given Olave's status.

TE is also still a bit of a need as well, which is why I think LSU's Mason Taylor would be worth consideration. Currently projected as the 3rd best TE in the class, he's shown to be a good blend of receiver as well as blocker and at 6'5 255, has the size to be a blocking asset at the next level.

Current rankings mean he's sure to be a 2nd round pick with a slight chance at early 3rd round. Unfortunately, I don't think we have a 2nd round pick anymore, making it doubtful he'd be in a position for us to grab him.
